Lori Brighton is an American published author.

When she was a child, she had thoughts of going to far off places and having adventures that kept her up late at night. Once she graduated high school, Lori came to the conclusion that there might be no better way to look for adventure and tend to her love of history than to become an archaeologist.

Lori would go on to get her degree in anthropology, but found out after that digging in the dirt during the humid summers of the Midwest was not as fun as she thought it would be. She decided to instead go to work in a museum that was air conditioned where much of her days were spent surrounded by Victorian animal mounts. But she wasn’t satisfied in this scenario either.

Lori decided that the people that were in her imagination were a little more exciting than the dead things that were stored in a museum basement. As a result, she set out upon writing her first romance novel. The book was rejected, as the next one was, and as the years went by the author started to wonder if she would ever see her dream fulfilled.

One day she came up with the idea for a book that combined her love of adventure and history, a book that became Wild Heart. Since that book came out, she has written in the genres of historical romance, young adult, and contemporary paranormal romance.

Lori is married and has a son. Their family also includes a golden retriever and a cat. They all reside together in the southern United States. She also writes romance stories under the pen name of L.R. Olson.
