Lucy A. Snyder is a five-time Bram Stoker Award-winning author.

She has written the Jessie Shimmer stories featuring Spellbent, Shotgun Sorceress, and Switchblade Goddess. She has also written the nonfiction book Shooting Yourself in the Head for Fun and Profit: A Writer’s Survival Guide.

Snyder is also the author of the poetry collections Exposed Nerves and Chimeric Machines. She has also written story collections such as Halloween Season, Garden of Eldritch Delights, While the Black Stars Burn, Soft Apocalypses, Orchid Carousels, Sparks and Shadows, and Installing Linux on a Dead Badger.

Her writing has been translated into many different languages including Italian, French, Russian, Czech, and Japanese. It has also appeared in many different publications such as Nightmare Magazine, Apex Magazine, Pseudopod, Strange Horizons, In the Court of the Yellow King, Steampunk World, Shadows Over Main Street, Scary Out There, Seize the Night, and Best Horror of the Year Volume 5.

Snyder writes a column for Horror World. She has also written materials for the D6xD6 role-playing game system. For her day job, she edits college courses for universities all over the globe and occasionally helps out writing educational games.

Lucy is a mentor in Seton Hill University’s MFA program in writing popular fiction. She resides in Columbus, Ohio.
