M.A. Nichols
M.A. Nichols was born and raised in Anchorage, and is a lifelong Alaskan with a love of the outdoors. During her childhood, she despised, however through the persistence and love of her mom she was taught the error of her ways and has had a deep, abiding relationship with it ever since.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in landscape management from Brigham Young University and a master’s in landscape architecture from Utah State University, but neither one of which has got anything to do with why she became a writer although it is a fun little tidbit nonetheless. And no she has no idea what sort of plant you should put in that shady spot out by your deck. She isn’t that type of landscape architect. So quit asking.

Even though she writes sweet historical romance and fantasy, she loves many genres of fiction, and wants to explore more of them in her future writing.

“A True Gentleman” is the first novel in the “Ashbrooks” series and was released in 2018. They say that reformed rakes make for the best husbands. They were so wrong.

Tabby Russell married the man of her dreams ten years ago, however once he returns to his dissipated habits, she realizes much too late that there is no going back on her wedding vows at this point in time. Tabby, who is now desperate and penniless, has got no other choice but to become a lowly nurse and housekeeper to this overbearing and irritating sailor.

Captain Graham Ashbrook adores the navy, however when this French cannonball leaves him broken, he finds he’s trapped at his sister’s estate, desperate to heal himself and reclaim the life that he loves, at any cost.

However his sister hires this intriguing nurse to look after him, and he finds himself wondering if life back on land may not be so bad. Even if the lady in question is determined to just keep him at arm’s length.

“Flame and Ember” is the first novel in “The Kingsleys” series and was released in 2018. A frustrated spinster, a heartbroken man, and a marriage of convenience which proves rather inconvenient.

Simon Kingsley is desperately in need of a wife. After years of searching, he found love finally. But unfortunately, she married somebody else, and now, it is time to settle for somebody with whom he can share the rest of his life. Love isn’t an option any longer for a man whose heart’s irrevocably broken.

Mina Ashbrook longs to marry for love yet knows that she is too old, too plain, and too plump to ever catch a gentleman’s eye. And marriage of convenience is much better than being a spinster sister living off of her brother’s charity. Simon might love her right now, however Mina knows that there is hope, if she can convince him that love comes in numerous forms.

Is Mina going to find a way to heal Simon’s heart? Or are the shadows of the past going to keep them from finding some happiness together?

“The Jack of All Trades” is the first novel in the “Finches” series and was released in 2021. A gentleman looking for his purpose. An heiress that’s looking to escape. Together, they might just find love.

Felicity Barrows isn’t a fool, even though all the fortune hunters pestering her have to believe differently. What other reason could they possibly have for hounding her every step, showering her with their honeyed words and fake compliments, expecting her to fall right into their calculating arms? Better to stay a spinster than marry unhappily, if she could just get a bit of peace from their incessant overtures.

Bit of time out in the country is exactly what she needs to clear her mind. However when her respite gets interrupted by this troublesome bachelor, she’s got no choice but to hide who she really is. It’s just a little white lie, after all.

Lewis Finch’s life is all set. Unable to distinguish himself in the gentlemanly profession that his dad picked for him, Lewis scrapes by from the charity of his friends and family. Without an income, he can’t marry, it’s a fact that he’s come to accept. But when this infuriatingly cheerful lady stumbles right into his path, he finds himself longing for that which he can’t have.

However this beguiling lady’s companion might be more than she appears.

“An Accidental Courtship” is the first novel in the “Leighs” series and was released in 2023. One beau, two sisters, plus a poorly addressed love letter equals a tricky courtship.

Prudence Leigh is well on her way to being a spinster. Such a dreadful future might be a few years away now, however with every man that chases after her beautiful little sister, Prudence has got little hope of finding love. However when she gets this letter full of heartfelt declarations, she learns it’s not too late for her. However for such an ardent beau in writing, the gentleman acts rather strangely in person.

Penmanship isn’t an important skill. Or so Dr. Parker Humphreys believed, until his letter gets delivered to the wrong sister.

Surely this has to be a joke. As Parker shows up at the town ball, he hopes to learn if Miss Rosanna Leigh accepted his declaration of love. But instead, his plain older sister is hanging around at his elbow, looking up at him with stars in her eyes. Now he’s stuck between a proverbial rock and a hard place.

What lady would ever accept a beau after he broke her older sister’s heart? But he can’t allow this mistake to stand, he loves Rosanna. If Parker can just get Prudence to realize just how poorly they suit one another. Then she’d break it off with him, and Parker would be free. Yes, having a temporary courtship may be the ticket. Surely that could work.

But despite his oddest behavior, Miss Leigh appears to be determined to keep him. And Parker is not so certain that he wants to be free of her.
