One year ago, Lydia became a widow at the age of 38 when she lost her beloved husband to cancer, and despite all of the support that her teen daughter (named Holly) and her friends, she has had a tough time moving on from this loss. She feels stuck, not certain how to carry out her husband’s last wish that she do something that scares her.

Struggling with loss and grief, each of the women head to Marigold Island, this idyllic small town with its happy childhood memories and white sand beaches.

This chance meeting between these two old friends sparks this idea that is just as exciting as it is horrifying. They decide to buy the historic Beachside Inn, renovate it, and re-open it.

Along the way, they will encounter this cranky landscaper that just might have a soft side hidden under his gruff exterior, old acquaintances, plumbing mishaps, and some unexpected competition from this major hotel.

“Beachside Beginnings” is the second novel in the “Marigold Island” series and was released in 2021. The Beachside Inn is up and running, however the work is far from being done. In fact, things are even busier than ever. After months of preparation, Lydia and Angela are hosting their first guests finally, and that includes Patrick, who needs a place to stay as he hunts for a new house.

Brooke should be over the moon, however she finds she’s oddly reluctant to accept. Because the truth is, she wants to be much more than his business partner. And more than his friend.
