Mark Wayne McGinnis is an accomplished American published author known for writing fiction.
He originally comes from a background of film making. He now works around the clock as a full time author. The intention for writing these science fiction and fantasy stories is simple: he wants to give fun escapism to his readers in its purest form.
Mark has spent his time growing up on both coasts of the United States. He started off in Westchester County, New York and then spent some time in Westlake village in California. Mark is married to his wife Kim. They live close to Boulder, Colorado, where they share their home with their dogs who are named Rika, Zoey, and Sammi.
Years ago, what first made him want to start writing was largely financially based. Mark thought that he could put something together that was worthwhile, but he wasn’t sure that there was anyone out there who would want to read it necessarily. He began writing his Scrapyard Ship series because he loved science fiction.
Mark says that writing is a discipline that he has enjoyed going as far back as he can recall. He began as a tech writer using it in one of his very first salaried jobs. He relates that writing continued to be important as he worked as a marketing entrepreneur at his own creative agency, and it continued to be important and relevant to his work as a film maker and producer.
The author says that he thinks that he is drawn to writing for the same reasons that he was pulled to film making, saying that getting an emotional response from people and affecting them in a personal way is just ‘plain fun’ for him. His suggestion to people who are at any age who want to write their first novel is to create a safe space for themselves where they have the support, time, and commitment to be able to complete what you start. He then advises writers to ‘just go for it’, noting that he himself joined some writing groups and found that to be beneficial.
Ironhold Station is the first book in the U.S.S. Hamilton series of fictional novels by Mark Wayne McGinnis. If you love a good fantasy and science fiction type story that is completely original, be sure to check this story out and see what you think!
The surprise attack that took place inside the Auriga Star System was more than brutal, it was heinous. It results in leaving the United States Navy’s 3rd Fleet completely wrecked. The amount of the wounded and the dead is astronomical. Thousands of the crew are reported to be dead. This includes the Captain of the ship, meaning that someone else is going to have to take over.
The young XO Galvin Quintos is reluctant, but it is his position to take command of the crippled dreadnaught in the fleet, the U.S.S. Hamilton. At the same time, he is going to have to work hard to bring the survivors from the fleet back to Earth. And even though it seems like things could not possibly get worse, it appears that there is a murderer who is running about the ship.
Also, the fuel levels are very low, and the Grish have returned. Not only that, they are in fast pursuit and appear more than ready to be able to take on what they started and finish it for good. It is only through pure luck as well as a good amount of smarts that Quintos will be able to take on this challenge and rise to meet it. Will he be able to succeed? Read this military science fiction thriller from Mark Wayne McGinnis to find out!
Miasma Burn is the second book in the U.S.S. Hamilton series by Mark Wayne McGinnis. If you read the first book in this series and really liked it, all of the adventure and the action keep on going in this science fiction military space opera adventure that is one of a kind. You won’t want to miss it!
Main character Captain Galvin Quintos had come back to Earth not long after freeing Ironhold Station, which was being held by a rough and tough group of Pylorian pirates. Little did he know that the Grish were all waiting around for his transport ship, and when the opportunity came to attack him, they jumped on it.
He barely made it through the attack, but Captain Galvin was able to survive somehow. It’s been three months since this went down and he is still trying to get better while being held inside of the walls of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Now today, he has found out more about a new intergalactic adversary. This would happen to be the Varapin, a highly advanced alien force who are on their way from the Andromeda Galaxy.
The intel says that these strange looking aliens have now aligned with the Grish. Together, they want to do all that they can to get rid of all humanity. Quintos is sure that his crew must have moved on to other posts. He also thinks that the U.S.S. Hamilton is likely still in the space dock with some battle damage. He’s got to figure out how to get back into the fight and to do it quickly. Can he manage to do it? Read this compelling military science fiction space opera sequel to find out!
