When She Was Me is the debut novel from Marlee Bush. Readers were first able to follow along on this adventure for themselves when the book was published in 2024. If you love a good thriller book and look forward to a twist whenever you’ve got a novel in your hands, you might just enjoy this book!
When it comes to the woods, sometimes there is just one way to get out. Cassie and Lenora are twin sisters, but ever since one night in particular they have not been away from each others’ side. They are the only residents of Cabin Two, the place that they are able to flee to on a campground in Tennessee.
There they are able to keep away from other people, from tons of questions that are overly invasive, and people who are addicted to true crime. Cassie and Lenora have made a team together, paired together up against the world all on their own.
Here they are able to enjoy some quiet and feel like they are able to be at peace. All of the solitude and the silence to themselves is nearly enough to allow them to put what happened years ago behind them, but somehow is not really able to do the job completely. Still, it’s better than nothing.
When a teen girl who is at the cabin close to them goes missing, they all start to experience more memories from the past. The crime starts to become more familiar, and they also understand that sometimes families who appear to be happy are also the ones covering the most under the surface.
Additionally, Cassie thinks that Lenora might know more than she is indicating, and vice versa. But for better or worse, the two are stuck together in the wilderness. Can they put together what they know and a picture of what really happened, or will they find out that it is much too late to do so? Read When She Was Me from author Marlee Bush to find out!
