Meara Platt is a bestselling author of historical romance fiction from Long Island, New York. Happily married to Russell Crowe with whom she has two children, she is a huge lover of traveling when she is not working as a lawyer.

While she has become one of the most popular authors in romance fiction, she still works a day job as a managing partner of one of the most exclusive boutique law firms in New York. Meara also finds time to occasionally write and give lectures.
When she is not lawyering, writing, or giving talks she loves to spend time in the Lake District of England in which many of her idyllic novels are set. For Platt, writing is mostly about enchantment and hence, she loves to spend time in the British Isles and England where he can be immersed in it.

She published “My Fair Lily” her debut novel and the first of the “Farthingale” series of novels in 2014. She now has more than forty works to her name among them several series, novellas, collections of short stories, and contributions to series by other authors.
For her work, Meara Platt has won several awards including the Golden Heart Award from the Romance Writers of America.

If anyone had an unusual childhood it would have to be Meara Platt. The author was born in the beautiful city of Cairo, Egypt where she played in the shadow of the Great Pyramid of Giza and the desert was her sandbox.

Nonetheless, Egypt was a country mired in all manner of problems and hence she would become a child refugee moving from country to country before settling in Australia. Australia was like heaven for Meara Platt’s family.
They lived in a Bondi Beach apartment where there was all manner of strawberries, passion fruit, and beautiful flowers growing in the garden. The impact of all that beauty would have a huge impact on Platt and hence it was no surprise that one of her series is called “Dark Gardens” and another takes the name of a flower as its title.

They used to spend their summers just outside Canberra, where they used to feed kangaroos that frequented the meadow with bread while kookaburra birds chirped in the high eucalyptus trees.
Ultimately, the family made it to the US and settled in the country. She has now lived in the US for years and considers it her home, even if she was not born there.

As for writing, Meara Platt has said that she always loved to read and hence writing was a natural offshoot of that hobby. From when she was a child, she used to read all manner of romance, fantasy paranormal romance, and mystery but what she loved best were historical romances.

A few years before she penned her debut, it seemed that all of her favorite authors were producing bad books. Tossing her favorite authors aside, her husband suggested that maybe she should write something better.
But as soon as she started writing, she realized she knew nothing about writing fiction. She found the local chapter of the Romance Writers of America and became a member. It was from her membership in the RWA that she would learn much of what she now knows as an author.
While she had always written, it was not until she published her first novel and it became a bestseller that she considered herself an author.

Meara Platt’s “The Look of Love,” tells the story of Lady Olivia Gosling who had gone to a musty bookshop and stumbled on “The Book of Love.” She could not have been more eager to try out the recipes on someone safe.

However, she recently got her hands on “The Book of Love,” and if there is one man she trusts she can trust the recipes on it has to be Thad. She intends to try it out on him in her quest to find a suitable husband.
What she is looking for is a mild manner earl from her village who will make her bones melt and her heart leap when she sees him.

On his part, all Thaddius MacLauren wants is a kiss from her and nothing more. He has been in love with the vexing and sharp-tongued Lady Penelope Sherbourne for years. Moreover, she has been the kindest person to him and this says something, particularly for a boy who never experienced the love of his family.

Her kindness had come to be one of the most important things in his life but he just cannot tell her how he feels. But then the Book of Love is introduced into the mix.
