Dark Game is the first book in the Lance Brody series by Michael Robertson, Jr. If you have been looking for a new mystery book to enjoy, check this one out and see what you think!
After horrific events go down that force him to flee his hometown, it hasn’t even been twenty-four hours before Lance Brody gets off of a bus and steps into an entirely different nightmare.
He finds himself in Westhaven. It’s a small town that appears to be perfectly ordinary on the surface of it, but Lance just looking around is able to sense the evil that is in the air, and knows that it knows that Lance has finally arrived.
Lance meets two new friends, one who is from this world and one who is from another. Lance finds out that apparently young men have been going missing from the area and leaving no trace of themselves behind. There are no clues as to what has happened to him and there are no answers either.
Lance is left with little choice but to use the gifts that he has. These gifts are unexplained, but they let him see beyond the veil and further into the shadows. He does his best to set out and restore the peace to Westhaven, hoping that he can do so quickly before another boy goes missing.
However, the evil that Lance felt the moment that he stepped foot in town is about to activate. He’s about to find out that this darkness is going to do everything that it can in its power to stop him, the lives being lost in the process be damned. Can he stop this evil and make sure that good saves the day? Or is Lance about to discover that he’s completely outpaced by forces beyond his control? Dark Son is the second book in the Lance Brody series by Michael Robertson, Jr. If you liked the first book in this series, then be sure to check out the sequel and keep the mystery and the suspenseful thrills going!
With a family that has been murdered, a haunted farmhouse, and a town that is full of secrets, it’s clear that Lance Brody has his work cut out for him.
Lance is on the move still and that is how he finds himself in Ripton’s Grove, a small town. He’s residing in a neglected farmhouse. It is the same place where Mark Benchley murdered his wife six years previous as well as their teen daughter before ultimately taking the shotgun and turning it on himself.
The town may have accepted the fate of the family and moved on, but Lance is not as familiar with the case. It doesn’t take him too much time to figure out that there might be a lot more to the night that the family died as well as the farmhouse itself than anybody is able to actually know who is still alive. As for the dead, they hold onto their secrets.
Lance goes looking for answers and tries to put together the various clues that the ghosts in the farmhouse seem to be giving him. In the process, he is able to find out something that ends up shaking him to his very core.
A young boy with the name of Ethan may just end up having a secret on him that is larger than anything that Lance could have ever expected. This may just end up being a secret that changes the course of his own life forever.
What will end up happening in this mystery suspense story with Lance Brody? Full of twists and turns, readers are going to love this book and be flipping the pages from start to finish to find out what happens. Grab a copy of Dark Son and get into this mystery today!
