Michelle Diener is an accomplished British author.

Born in London, Michelle is known for being a best selling and award winning writer of fiction, largely in the categories of fantasy, historical fiction, and science fiction. She has worked in publishing as well as IT and is now very content writing, where she is able to come up with entirely new worlds as well as interesting characters.

While she was born in London, Michelle largely grew up in South Africa. Reading and writing have been her passions of choice for a very long time.

The author is married and resides in Australia, where she shares her life with her husband and their children. She loves to write and when she is not busy doing that she is frequently online. Main character Gabriella Farnsworth is working hard during the summer of 1963. She is a London traffic warden who has just gotten onto the job and is adjusting to all that comes with it. It’s not the easiest job in the world as she contends with random threats, swearing, and plenty of temper tantrums. Even though she’s mentally prepared herself for what the job entails, she has no reason to expect that one of her days on the job will include discovering a dead body.

Finding what appears to be a murder victim is apparently now one of the things that she can expect form her job. Gabriella didn’t really have much of an interest in becoming involved in the investigation– after all, she was just the person who found the body. She doesn’t have any special skills and simply having found the deceased individual means that she is connected to the case. In lieu of a main suspect, her name is already penciled in, simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Gabriella has no plans to get more engaged with the case, but she can’t help what is coming her way. She is shocked beyond compare when a few days later, she runs into another dead body that is located just a few feet away from where the first one was. She is becoming very worried. It looked bad enough the first time, but now this is the second time that she’s been the one to find a dead body.

Is it mere coincidence or is this happening on purpose? Is Gabriella getting supremely unlucky or is there something more to what is happening? She ends up being surprised when the New Scotland Yard discovers that the art gallery close to where the bodies were found is actually a front and they’re cooking up a new psychedelic drug there.

The killings start to slowly make more sense, and she’s relieved that the New Scotland Yard has a detective on the case who hopefully will able to find more clues that clear her name. What neither of them know yet is that the killer may have an agenda of their own that they are not yet privy to. But can Gabriella and the detective figure out what is going on before it is too late? He has a reason to be nervous. The mist clearing means that new victims are found. The bodies are piling up out there, and he needs to work quickly to find this killer. Gabriella has street contacts that could give information that assists James with understanding that the murders are not just the beginning of a new crime spree—they’re picking up from where things left off.

The pair are going to have to go back to the past and find out more details about what went down in the Blitz. This is the best way to find the clues that they need in order to capture the killer.
