Mike Nawrocki is a published author known for being the co-creator of Veggie Tales.

Besides being a co-creator of the popular series Veggie Tales, Mike is also a co-founder of Big Idea Entertainment and is the voice of the much loved character Larry the Cucumber. It has now been over two decades that this author has lived his dedication to helping families pass on biblical values to their children through storytelling.

Nike Nawrocki is an assistant professor of film and animation at Lipscomb University. He is also an artist in residence there, while also pursuing an MFA in writing and directing for film at the Nashville, Tennessee establishment.

He is married and has two children with his wife, Lisa. They share a home in Franklin, Tennessee. His first book series for children is titled The Dead Sea Squirrels. It has been a delight to write this series from his home!

In the first story of this series, a boy of ten years old named Michael is featured along with his friend Justin. The two decide to sneak into the Dead Sea caves to explore as Michael’s dad is working on an archaeological dig nearby.

They aren’t really expecting to find anything, but Michael happens upon two squirrels that are apparently two thousand years old that have been petrified in sea salt. All types of hijinks start going on as Michael attempts to bring them back to the United States, carefully having hidden them in his backpack.

Michael believes that they are just cool souvenirs, but along the way he may find out that there is much more to them. This is a fun and light series that is full of lessons about building characters while also keeping things humorous and fun.

This series has engaging and cute illustrations that will be fun for kids, interesting and humorous plot lines that are guaranteed to pull the reader in, and ultimately a lot of positive messages that also promote biblical values. Tons of misadventures and missteps occur as the squirrels Merle and Pearl do their best to help Michael and his friends to take on a bully, all while they lean on lessons that they have learned from the Sermon on the Mount.
