Molly Fader is a Toronto-based author who has published more than 70 bestselling novels in the romance genre. It is important to note that she has also published works in the space under the pseudonyms M. O’Keefe and Molly O’Keefe.
She published her debut novel “Everything I Left Unsaid” as M. O’Keefe in 2015 but it was with the publishing of her novel “The Sunshine Girls” in 2022 that she would come into her one. The novel was a dramatic reimagining of friendships during the Vietnam War, set in a nursing school in the US would become her most popular work.
Under her real name and different pseudonyms, she has published more than fifty works of fiction and continues to write.
Molly Fader currently makes her home in Toronto Ontario from where she lives with her husband, their two children, and their rescue dog. She sometimes interacts with her fans and readers on her social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads too.
As for her very early beginnings, Fader began writing when she was still a child.
During her childhood, her father was a wrestling coach in high school and this meant that most of the weekends he was never home. Molly and her mother used to travel to many of these wrestling matches all over the Midwest but once in a while she got enough of smelly gyms and decided to spend a leisurely weekend back at home.
When she was about thirteen years old and they were spending the weekend at home, her mother rented three movies for a daughter/mother movie marathon. The three movies that they rented were Dr. Zhivago, A Gentleman Dirty Dancing, and An Officer. This would become the inspiration for just about everything she now writes.
Molly also finds some of her inspiration from food since she is a comfort food eater. During the pandemic in 202, she learned all manner of novel cooking skills and now makes use of food as a metaphor for love. She believes that food makes it possible to communicate love without the need for words.
Molly Fader’s novel “The Sunshine Girls” is a breathtaking work is set in Iowa in 1967 and tells the story of two roommates Kitty and BettyKay, who hardly have anything in common.
BettyKay is a farmer’s daughter who goes against her family’s wishes and faces much disapproval when she leaves her small rural town and heads to college to make her dreams come true. As for Kitty, she is a girl from the city who has always depended on her smarts and beauty to get ahead and uses it to hide a devastating secret too.
What they have in common is a desire to prove themselves in a world in constant flux by forging a powerful and unlikely bond on campus that is not very good for women. Before they are done with their first year, they have to deal with a tragedy and are forced apart.
However, against all odds, they form a decades-long friendship, persevering through death, failure, marriage, and love, from the glamorous Hollywood circles to the jungles of Vietnam. But their relationship comes to a crossroads one snowy night.
Things come to a head when half a century later, a famous movie star turns up at the funeral of two estranged sisters. Over that weekend, the women will need to deal with a truth that may forever change their lives.
Molly Fader’s novel “The McAvoy Sisters Book of Secrets” is a brilliant work of fiction that tells of the McAvoy sisters who might just be brought back together by the very thing that drove the family apart.
It has been nearly two decades since what was to be a beautiful summer fell apart. Lindy who was known for being the wild one made a new life for herself in the city and never thought of home. Delia her sister stayed at home and became a mother who raised her kids and ran a family shop on the shores of Lake Erie.
But since their mother is ailing and she is dealing with a rebellious teenager, Delia welcomes Lindy back home. Trying to put their affairs in order, they have an opportunity to reclaim what they never had for years.
Delia has always dreamed of a happy marriage and a professional carer while Lindy dreams of an old flame and a sense of home. But then a shocking revelation one night means the women have to deal with a past they avoided for more than ten years. There is nothing like an old secret to bring back the McAvoy sisters together.
With wry wit and warm affection, it is a novel all about ties that bind and the power of secrets that could set us free but often hold us back when they remain hidden.
Molly Fader’s novel “The Bitter and Sweet of Cherry Season” follows three generations of women. They just came together back home and gathered at the family orchard and had to face some dark secrets from the past, even as they learned how to believe in the power of forgiveness and hope.
Everything that Hope knows about her family home is from what her mother who is now deceased used to tell her. As such, when she arrives at the family estate in Michigan one night with a ten-year-old daughter and a terrible secret, she does not know if she will be turned away or welcomed by the aunt she never met.
Peg her aunt has been a resident of Orchard House for much of her life even though the estate has been better. She agrees to take in Hope if she will help with the cherry harvest. Even though she knows nothing about farming or harvesting, she has no choice but to agree.
As she works alongside her daughter, her aunt, and a kind man she just cannot ignore, a new life begins to blossom. However, the mistakes of the past are always snooping on their heels. It will not be long before they will find themselves fighting the hardest they ever did for each other and for their family roots.
