Time For Justice (2020)Hardcover  Paperback  Kindle

Neil Sands is an English author out of Suffolk. He made his debut as an author in 2020 with the release of Time for Justice which is the first book in the Pursuit of Justice series of books.

Sands has a very extensive and varied background that lead him on the long journey to becoming an author. He was born in Ilford Essex and had a quite exciting youth. He got his first guitar at the age of eight years old and was quickly playing and singing on stage. He would stay in school until the age of fifteen before leaving with no qualifications. Still, he needed to work and his first job £5 a week messenger boy on the London Stock Exchange. During this time he would play guitar for many groups during the 1960s and the swinging time that was.

His love of books came during his life of working as he would travel on the tube every day and need to pass the time. He started reading to do that, but it ended up being way more as it opened up his mind to another world inspired by all of the great authors he read.

He’s held many other jobs and careers since those early days as he did everything from window cleaning to working as a debt collector, sales rep, bouncer, fitness instructor, and even as a professional wrestler. He wrestled for Britain’s World of Sport during its heyday and was a friend of Rollerball Rocco and Steven Regal. He wrestled big stars of the time like Giant Haystacks and Kendo Nagasaki.

It was while working as a professional wrestler that he first began to think about writing a book. As he would drive from show to show, he would make up plots in his head and think about how he would go about writing them. That idea never left him and finally, in 2012, he sat down to write his first novel.

Sands finally found a career in the world of theatrical production and has done that for most of his past twenty years. The work took him away from his early work as a writer as he was touring theatre shows all over. He has worked in the production of Remember When which provides musical memories from the 40s to 70s and features songs made famous by Doris Day, Vera Lynn, Elvis and Abba. He has also produced Nashville Nights and Dixie Days, the Ultimate Jukebox Party, and a special Christmas version of Remember When. He would still think about his book, but he was simply too busy to do it.

The COVID-19 lockdown ended up being a godsend to him though as he was finally able to finish writing with all of the theaters being shut down. While it was stressful for his other career, it allowed him to finally finish the book that he’d been wanting to write for years.

Time for Justice was Neil Sands debut novel. The book follows DCI Dan Hopper, an ex-paratrooper captain, who is out to find a Special Forces operative on a killing spree. The killer is leaving a gruesome body trail in his wake and each victim is marked with a hideous signature. It’s up to Hopper to catch him as the death toll continues to rise. Hopper’s quest to catch the killer will take him from Great Britain to Baghdad, Switzerland, Turkey, and back again. This book has a non-stop pace and delvers into the killer’s tragic past while focusing on Hopper’s unflinching quest for justice.
