Paige Harbison is an American published author.

She was born in Los Angeles, California on December 14, 1989.

She grew up in the Washington D.C. area, with parents who were also in the arts as a writer and a musician. Paige graduated from high school early and attended college in St. Augustine, Florida. Between her first and second year she wrote her first novel. She was lucky enough to sign her first contract at 19 years old the following semester to sell her book, and says from that point on everything changed.

She transferred schools three times and changed her major from theatre to painting. She graduated early from Towson University while continuing to work on her first three published novels that were all for young adult readers. These would become Here Lies Bridget, New Girl, and Anything to Have You.

Throughout the course of the next decade the author would work as a ghostwriter and a bartender. She also did her best to travel as much as she could because she was intent on living it up all in the name of finding inspiration for her next book.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Paige recounts that she relocated with her family and move to Palm Springs. She had slowed down enough to begin thinking about the next part of her life which led to her leaving the service industry, taking some positions in film and television, and working more on her next book.

Today she is based out of Los Angeles. She lives there with her partner Richie and her dog Tarot, as well as the several spiders that have decided that they want to live in their home even though they were not invited.

The Other Side of Now is a 2025 novel by Paige Harbison. If you want to read a dramatic book that whisks you out of the everyday and into another world, check out this book from Paige Harbison that is equal parts funny and heartfelt and shows that love in life is never truly really lost.

Main character Meg Bryan has a lead role on a hit television show and is starting to see her career finally reach the places she wants it to. It doesn’t hurt that she is in a relationship with the hottest guy in Hollywood, and now it seems that everything that she always wanted is finally hers.

Beneath all of the makeup and the hairspray and the fake smiles, Meg Bryan is faking her happiness. It’s as superficial and made up as Lana Ford, her stage name. When she has a tiny breakdown at her thirtieth birthday, she decides that it’s time to take a trip where things might be better. She feels that she will do much better in Ireland in that small village that she always dreamed of moving to with her best friend Aimee.

It was all that they had talked about for a time, but that dream fell away when Aimee died in an accident. She sees no better time to resurrect it and set out to take the trip that they’d always talked about.

When Meg comes to town, she finds that the people there are very nice. They don’t even treat her like she is a stranger, they talk to her like she is a friend. The only person who seems to deviate from this is the handsome bartender who is very busy giving her a cold shoulder.

Meg puts it all down to jet lag, but then she takes a look in the mirror. She no longer has hair that is completely bleached, her skin has some natural fine lines, and her nose is the same as it ever has been and looks like her real nose.

Slowly but surely, Meg starts waking up to a strange reality that she thinks can’t be true. On her phone there are tons of pictures of her, and they all depict an actual life living in this town. Could this be why everyone welcomed her like they already knew her when she had just chalked it up to classic Irish hospitality?

Meg sees all of these photos that she doesn’t recognize. She’s posing with a cute dog that she doesn’t recognize, with the bartender who might be her former boyfriend, and at a retail job that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with acting. She starts to realize that she didn’t just go on a vacation to this place but instead somehow was able to quantum slide into this– some alternate version of her life.

The most shocking discovery that she ends up making is the fact that this life actually has a version of her best friend still alive and walking around. Aimee didn’t get into an accident into this reality, but one thing is different– she doesn’t want anything to have to do with Meg.

Even though she is confused by this, Meg still refuses to let this get her down. She knows this is a unique chance to be able to connect with her friend and mend what was broken. As she does her best to try and get a part in the play Aimee is writing and directing, Meg starts to realize that the events she remembers might not be the only truth. Can she figure out what to do and make some sense out of these timelines, or is she doomed? Read this book to find out!
