He finds himself connecting with an odd force who lives in the woods and uses it to wreak havoc against his captors. But what the boy does not know is that this ancient being might have its own motivations for wanting the interlopers to go.
There is something hiding in the house, tucked safely away in the root cellar in the dark and damp, waiting for its return. Will it come back? Read this thriller to find out!
Boys in the Valley is the second novel from Philip Fracassi. If you love a good thriller and don’t like to put books down until you’ve finished them, this is the right book for you!
Set in a remote valley in Pennsylvania at the turn of the century is St. Vincent’s Orphanage for Boys. Here thirty boys work, learn, and worship, all under the watching eyes of several priests.
Peter Barlow was made an orphan as a child thanks to a horrible murder. Here he has made a new life, and has friends, a future, and a family. Then one night, a group of men shows up at the door.
One is badly wounded and has occult symbols carved into his skin. His dying releases an ancient evil that spreads through like a sickness, flowing over St. Vincent’s and all within. Soon the boys start acting differently, forming groups and taking sides.
Some of them are turning up dead. It’s up to Peter and those close to him to choose their own sides– even if the risk might be your very soul. What will happen? Read this thriller-meets-coming-of-age book to find out!
