Maya Jackson has worked for Laura Whitcomb, Inc., for years. The renowned New York City bridal gown brand has been her home for years and she has dreamed of becoming the Head Designer in all those years.

She knows that she has the talent, but she also needs a chance to show off her unique style. Due to an illness, she has always prioritized her career over her personal life. But then her father fractures her hip and she comes back to Charleston, South Carolina.

She’s only been home for a few months, but she has been thrilled to discover an opportunity for her at the local bridal gown boutique to work. The last thing that she ever expected was for sparks to fly through the air with its owner.

Derek Sullivan is a widowed father and a military veteran. He’s always wanted to save Always a Bride from bankruptcy so that he can preserve his mother’s legacy. He also has the desire to reconnect with his estranged daughter of 12 years old, who is still getting over the loss of her mother.

While he may be attracted to this woman, Derek thinks that the last thing that he needs is a relationship with a woman who is smart, beautiful, and complicated, especially one who is going to be leaving soon.

But Derek also starts falling for Maya because she is so lovely. He knows that there is little chance for a future, but he can’t help it. However, destiny has its own plans and these two people who are lonely also have their big hearts in common. Can they find a new home in this place and in each other? Read this book to find out!

Jaslene Simmons thought that the happiest day of her life would be the day that she said I do to her future husband, Marcus Clark. Then her sister passes away in a tragic accident and everything changes.

This includes her once positive future that she pictured with Marcus. Jaslene starts putting all of her energy into caring for her niece, who is now without a mother, and running the wedding planning company that she built with her sister. She wants to honor the dream that she and her sister had, even if it means putting some things in her life on the back burner.

Marcus is an archivist at Charleston’s black history museum, where he works to shine a light on the stories of people who have been forgotten. Researching history to him is a better distraction to focus on and is superior to contending with his own heartache, as well as the guilt that he has over thinking that he may have inadvertently played a role in Jaslene’s sister’s death.

Jaslene thought that she would never cross paths with Marcus again. But she has a need for affordable office space, which brings her to the very museum that he works at which is being threatened with closure. They work together to save it, and their feelings that have been buried start to come to the surface. They start to realize that they still have room in their hearts to love, especially if they can work to overcome their past. Can they figure things out and find true love? Read this book to find out!
