He is a medical student who went on to become a junior doctor. When he was first a medical student, he decided to start writing crime novels as a way to stay sane after reading so many neuroanatomy textbooks.
Rob resides in South London. There he spends quite a bit of time drinking, writing, reading, learning, eating, cycling, and sleeping.
His debut novel is The Hollow Men, the first in the Dr. Harry Kent series. He followed it up with the sequel, A Handful of Ashes. Harry is the main character and is a hero who is determined and compassionate. The story is set in a hospital in contemporary London.

Dr. Harry Kent is a man who has a busy life and likes it that way. He balances his duties at the hospital with working as a Metropolitan Police surgeon, which helps him keep his mind off of the things that he saw working as a medic in the Army.
Police work is usually pretty straight forward. It’s small injuries and assessing mental health most of the time. But the case of Solomon Idris is a lot different from normal. He has decided to take eight people hostage in a chicken takeout place and now things are going all wrong.
Solomon wants to see a lawyer and also a BBC reporter. He’s clearly mentally ill, and so Harry is sent in to try and connect with the teen and treat him. Then Solomon gets endangered again later when he is put into a critical care ward, and it becomes clear that someone is out to get him.
The panic and the fear that Solomon is feeling all of a sudden become clear to the doctor. Someone out there wants to kill him so that they can protect whatever he knows and keep it from getting out. Harry needs to find out the secret that the boy has that took him to such desperate lengths.
Now Harry sees that someone in the medical world– someone that he might even know personally– has taken the commandment to do no harm for doctors and broken it.
