Robert E. Hampton PhD is an author and a neuroscientist.

During the day, he is a professor at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where he studies how our brains encode memory. By night, he is writing military, adventure and hard-science science fiction in addition to nonfiction articles that explain science to the general public.

Robert’s career in writing science fiction started when he had several pieces of short fiction published in 2015. Today he has three collaborative novels published in the Four Horsemen Universe and some solo novels of his own. He has also co-edited two anthologies and has published over twenty-five works of short fiction.

Dr. Hampton’s scientific career has concentrated on understanding the effect of disease, drugs, and injury on human memory. He also has the goal of developing a medical device to restore human memory function. He is a reviewer, researcher, teacher, consultant, and scientific journal editor.
