Rochelle Bilow is an American author and food writer. She loves buttery toast as her favorite food and resides in northern Vermont.
She has graduated from The French Culinary Institute. She has been a line cook, a baker, and a social media manager for the Cooking Light and Bon Appétit magazines. She has also appeared on the television show Beat Bobby Flay in a 2014 episode.
Rochelle has written articles about everything from restaurants to home cooking to spirits, groceries, food news, trends, and products. They have been published in many different national publications that extend to Food & Wine, Eating Well, Serious Eats, The Spruce Eats, and The Kitchn.
Her first book written was titled The Call of the Farm. It was released in 2014. Her fictional debut was made with the release of Ruby Spencer’s Whisky Year, which came out in 2023 from Berkley Romance. She followed that romantic comedy up with another, titled Effie Olsen’s Summer Special.
The author was educated at Le Moyne College where she graduated with a BA in communications and The French Culinary Institute, where she received her Grande Diplome in Classic Culinary Arts. She works as a commerce editor for Serious Eats, coming up with stories that are about tools, techniques, equipment, and home cooking. She has been writing for over a decade about food professionally and has been testing out kitchen equipment ever since 2021.
She has worked as a prep cook, line cook and baker before going into magazine and digital food journalism. She also worked in upstate New York on a small organic farm as a cook. In addition to being a great chef, she is an ultra-trail runner.
