Ruth Baker is an accomplished published author.
Like so many writers, Ruth loves to hear and to tell stories. She did not take her writing seriously until she was told by one of her teachers that she had something and to not waste it.
For writing, she enjoys female characters who are sassy as well as intelligent and also have the ability to think outside of the box. The author admits that she has a sweet tooth and that readers might be able to see an expression of her indulgences in some of her stories.
She is very happy to be a part of the CleanTales Publishing team and she loves sharing her stories with readers. She is the author of the Ivy Creek Cozy Mystery series as well as the Whispering Haven Cozy Mystery series. In the Ivy Creek Cozy Mystery series, the protagonist Lucy Hale in the series helps to solve murder mysteries that take place in her small town.

Main character Lucy Hale was someone who always wanted to make a name for herself. She wanted to build a name that when people heard it, they would associate it with creativity, excellence, and fun.
She believed that she had found her calling in the city and was on her way to become a food blogger who was known all around the globe, but sometimes you cannot predict what is going to happen and even the best laid plans of people often go awry.
Things change suddenly for Lucy when she gets some tragic news that pulls her back to her small town. The one that she, like so many others, thought that she finally got away from. Will she be able to still make a name for herself in this small town like she had always thought? And more importantly, will she be able to make it through all of the attention that the citizens of Ivy Creek give her who believe that she has gotten a big head and a little too large for her britches?
Read along to find out how Lucy is able to navigate her way through a variety of emotions. She rides a perpetual rollercoaster as she attempts to resolve a murder mystery that is naming her as the main suspect.
Lucy believed that running her own bakery would be the easiest thing in the world. But she is in for a huge shock when the fiercest competitor that she has is discovered dead in her own backyard. Will she be able to acquit herself in the court of public opinion? Or are things even worse than she thought and she is lined up to become the next victim of this killer?

Twinkle, Twinkle, Deadly Sprinkles is the second book in the Ivy Creek Cozy Mystery series by Ruth Baker. If you loved the first book in this series, be sure to move on and try the second and see what you think about it.
When the main character Lucy is invited to come and serve her pastries at a charity gala, it seems like a great opportunity to her. She has the chance to rub shoulders with all of the movers and shakers that exist in the town.
Things that are happening end up turning out better than could have been expected when she gets approached by a wealthy couple who want nothing more than for her to be the caterer for a huge event going on in their lives.
It seems like everything should be going fine. However, Lucy’s life is suddenly turned upside down when she hears that this couple, who seemed so nice, have been discovered dead.
Things get even worse from there. The rumor mill in Ivy Creek starts going into overdrive with hints that Lucy’s pastries might have been the thing that ultimately killed the couple. It isn’t true, of course, but it’s a small area where everyone knows everyone and people are of course going to gossip.
The insinuations that are being made are that Lucy’s pastries are the thing that killed the couple and no one else. But that can’t be true. Aside from Lucy knowing that there was nothing wrong with her pastries, there is also the fact that there were many people who ate the pastries but did not get sick or die like the couple.
There is no reason that people should think that the pastries killed the couple, but rumors swirl anyway. It gets to the point where Lucy realizes that she is going to have to get out there and do the work to clear her name because no one else is going to. She can’t afford to have all of this bad press on her name out there or people gossiping about her, that is for sure.
There is also a new mystery that emerges out of this situation: if the pastries weren’t the thing that killed the couple, then what did? Or who? Lucy has her work cut out for her this time. She must set aside all of her frustrated feelings and her fears and discover a killer who is more than happy to let Lucy go down for a crime that is completely heinous.
This is the second book in the Ivy Creek Cozy Mystery series, and it’s a good one. Whether you’re in the mood for a read that is light and fun, love a good female protagonist, or just want to read about culinary desserts that are guaranteed to make your mouth water, check this book out!
