Dying Eyes is the first book in the Brian McDone series by Ryan Casey. This series was first introduced for the readers to enjoy in 2013. T.A. Dean says that the story has plenty of twists and turns and is ‘riveting and horrifying’. Keep that in mind if you have a sensitive stomach while embarking on this story, and proceed if you like detective mystery thrillers with tons of suspense!
You never know what secrets you are going to find when you look behind dying eyes. The Lancashire Police Department is enjoying some sudden calm now that the chaos of the holidays and the New Year has died down. They’re hoping that it’s time to relax and just get back to normal. But that might be too much to ask for, as they’re about to find out.
Main character Detective Brian McDone knows that when it comes to everything that’s going on, there can be no relaxing. Then a young woman is discovered in a bad part of the city with bruises all over her and her nails dug into her palms. She’s as of yet unidentified, but there is one thing about this woman in particular that stands out: her eyes are wide open.
She’s looking up at some unknowable thing with fear frozen on her face. People look but no one seems to claim to know who she is. Brian gets on the case and starts putting clues together along with his team. But the things that he finds lead him to unexpected places, and the more that he looks into the case, the more that he realizes that he’s going to have to be very careful about who he trusts because his life may be on the line.
This is a police procedural that just does not stop once it gets going! Follow along with Brian McDone as he dives into a seedy world where someone or something scared a young woman enough to take her life. Was she murdered or was she scared to death?
Full of suspense and a detective mystery that will have you turning pages to get to the end, this is a great read if you love crime thrillers. Get a copy of Dying Eyes and follow along with every last minute of this tantalizing mystery for yourself!
Buried Slaughter is the suspenseful second novel in the Brian McDone series by Ryan Casey. If you loved all of the twists and turns that came along with the first detective thriller, then be sure to give this exciting sequel a try!
When it comes to secrets, many of them are better left buried and done. The Nicola Watson case feels like yesterday, but Brian McDone has done the work and has finally gotten his life back together two years after the case happened.
Now he’s employed in the police department in the lower ranks, but that doesn’t matter to him much. He knows that he’s mentally stable and his personal life is stronger than it’s ever been. It all matters to him a lot more than just working the lower ranks. But when news comes out of a series of ritual murders conducted in the Lancashire countryside, it seems that there’s going to be a need for him to step up to the front lines after all.
Seven bodies have been discovered and they have been dispatched in a careful but brutal fashion. The heads are taken off, stacked on each other, the flesh gone from the bones. The police don’t know what to do with this case, but Brian’s curiosity is provoked.
The more that he looks into the case, the more invested he gets. Brian finds that the peace and quiet of his normal life are being taken over by the world of the investigation. But he’s got limited time to solve this case and find a devastatingly intelligent serial killer.
Now Brian’s got to gear up and even potentially risk everything by working to take down a killer who knows what they’re doing and might even come for the detective and those he cares about personally. Will he be able to get this case over and done with and put a very dangerous person away for good? Or is the detective about to find out that working in the lower ranks might have been the safest thing he could have done and his precious peaceful world is gone? Read this thriller from Ryan Casey to find out!
