Sandra Hill is a bestselling author who writes in various genres, some include time-travel, contemporary, historical, and romance.
She is a lifelong writer, but in school enjoyed writing essays. Starting in the early nineties, her interest turned to writing novels. This was a new beginning and a drastically different career path for her from the journalism she had been working in. She is is still love with writing, as well as with new beginnings.
It is no wonder that every single book she has written deals with new beginnings in some way. Her first novel was about a lady that was close to getting divorced and looking to start over.
Sandra Hill finds that one of the best gifts there is in the world is finding love, which is something that is appreciated by others. She herself has been blessed in that area.
While she was a young girl, she was serious and shy. She never recalls cracking any jokes. Anything that was off-color would make her blush and run for cover. This was possibly due to her strong Catholic upbringing. Her sister Flora and she attended St. Agnes School, located in Lock Haven. Which was a place where the nuns would have soaped their mouths had they thought anything racy, let alone speak it out loud.
It was probably due to the shyness that made her want to bury her face in books. There was a wonderful library in Lock Haven, located in an old three-story Victorian house, that was complete with dusty alcoves and window nooks.
While she was a reporter for the Trenton Evening Times that she met Robert, her husband. At the time, he was a political aide, and was the opposite of shy. They had four sons with each other.
“The Love Potion” is the first novel in the “Cajun” series, which was released in the year 1999. There is a love potion in a jelly bean. Yes, really. Fortune and fame are certainly only a swallow away after Dr. Sylvie Fontaine discovers a formula that is guaranteed to attract members of the opposite sex. Even though her own love life is only hypothetical, this shy chemist’s professional future has been assured. As long as she can find a human guinea pig.
Only problem with it is that the wrong guy swallowed her love potion. Lucien LeDeux, bad boy, is way more than she is able to handle even before he gets dosed with the Jelly Bean Fix. That wildly virile attorney is the last guy she would pick to subject to the scientific method.
After the dust settles, Sylvie and Luc have acquired the answers to some important questions. Is it possible for a straight-laced female to lose each and every one of her inhibitions? Could a man die of testosterone overload? They learn that an old-fashioned romance is still the best catalyst you can have for love.
“Tall, Dark and Cajun” is the second novel in the “Cajun” series, which was released in the year 2003. Rachel Fortier, a home design consultant in her thirties, is fed up with her fiance. It is bad enough he would give her a Thighmaster for Valentine’s Day and a Butt Buster on her birthday, and their seven-year engagement doesn’t seem to have an end in sight. She just learned that he had a vasectomy.
Rachel packs up her stuff and heads down south to meet with her great-aunt Gizelle for the first time and take some time to regroup. She imagines Grandma Walton that lives in an idyllic house that is surrounded by nature. What she finds, instead, is a cabin on stilts deep in the bayous, with snakes as big as telephone poles and alligators. Aunt Gizelle is an ex-taxidermist that is able to outcreep Hannibal Lecter any day.
As if that wasn’t enough to make a girl turn tail and go back to her ex, Gizelle is fighting with a Cajun bad boy, named Remy LeDeux (who is an Air Force vet and a helicopter pilot) who has a face scarred from battle. Remy wants to buy a plot of land off Gizelle, but the feisty senior makes it known that she wants nothing to do with any of the LeDeux family. The instant Remy catches a glimpse of Rachel getting out of a red truck, he falls in love with her right there.
This happens, despite all the problems she brings into his life, with her ex chasing her around and her plans of Feng Shui-ing his houseboat. As well as her great-aunt threatening to shoot his butt. Getting Rachel to marry him makes it all worth it, for sure. After all, he has never met a woman that stares at him like she is a chocoholic and he is a Whitmans Sampler box.
“The Cajun Cowboy” is the third novel in the “Cajun” series, which was released in the year 2004. Charmaine LeDeux, owner of two beauty salons on the Louisiana bayou, is being tailed by a loan shark. Raoul Lanier, who she thought she had divorced many years previously informs her that they are still married. They have inherited his dad’s run down cattle ranch. He promises to give her a real divorce if she will just sell him her part of the ranch. She decides that this ranch is a great place for her; the perfect place to hide for a gal that needs to lay low for a time.
Raoul doesn’t want Charmaine to live with him at all, but Charmaine has been stubborn forever. Quickly, she has taken over the house, adding her feminine touches to everything and having his three ranch hands eating right from the palm of her hand. He knows that he has lost the fight for good when her belly-dancing great-aunt and the rest of the LeDeux family come for Thanksgiving dinner. He may as well yield to the temptation that she still rouses up in him. If only he could keep her safe from the Dixie mafia that is hunting for her and make her see that he is worth a second chance at love.
