Sara Mackenzie is the pseudonym of Australian historical romance novelist Kaye Dobbie. Writing as Sara Mackenzie, she writes some critically acclaimed works of fiction in the time travel and paranormal romance genres. She is particularly known for the Immortal Warriors series which combines elements of historical fiction, fantasy, and romance.
Mackenzie published Return of the Highlander the debut novel of the Immortal Warriors series of novels in 2006. She has since published at least two more titles in the series. When she made the Immortal Warriors series a success, she spun off The Hellfire Club, a trilogy she launched with Lorne which she released in 2017 that introduced new storylines and characters and brought her even more fans and readers. In addition to writing paranormal romances, she has also published The Beast in the Loch novella and the Stepping Back Collection in 2013. Publishing all these works just goes to show how versatile Mackenzie is as a novelist.

Sara Mackenzie published her debut novel in the Immortal Warriors series Return of the Highlander in 2006. The work that follows Arabella Ryan combines elements of time travel, fantasy, and romance. She is a writer so deep into the legend of a notorious Highland chieftain from the 18th century named Black Maclean. Digging deep into the legend of Morven Maclean, she finds evidence pointing to Scotland’s secluded Loch Fasail. While she does not know it, Macelan has been living between worlds for hundreds of years. Working with a mystical sorceress he brings Maclean into the modern era. But the man is bewildered by the smooth stone paths, metal monsters hurtling down the roads and people in strange costumes. The work is set in Cornwall England in 1814 and stars a gentleman highwayman named Nathaniel Raven who is murdered and betrayed by a friend he trusted. Nearly 200 years later, he gets a chance to rectify past wrongs and unearth the secrets of his betrayal and murder when he is brought back by a mystical sorceress. Fast forward to the present and a pragmatic solicitor named Melanie Jones from the English capital London has arrived at Ravenswood Estate to ensure the property is ready for an upcoming sale. She was expecting a routine assignment only to have her expectations dashed when she met Raven. The man was brought back to life to deal with some unresolved wrongs from the past. At first, Melanie is skeptical but when she understands Raven’s quest they begin to work together to resolve the mysteries of his past. As they work together against a formidable adversary from the past and many supernatural challenges, their partnership soon turns into a passionate romance that transcends the boundaries of reality and time.
Sara Mackenzie once again blows it out of the water with her third novel of the Immortal Warriors series Passions of the Ghost. When she meets Reynald there is an undeniable chemistry between them even as they work together to resolve mysteries from his past and confront some dark adversaries. Yet again a story rich in paranormal elements and historical intrigue that expires themes of redemption and love and the consequences of past actions.
