Scott McCrea has made a specialty of creating ongoing series characters in the western, adventure and thriller genres that have resonated with readers around the world. He is the author of more than 30 novels, and he has also written television documentaries, nonfiction books, magazine articles and blog posts, and even … trading cards. McCrea is a former communications executive and is profoundly glad to be out of that business.

He wanted to be a writer ever since he started crafting stories in the second grade. Aside from his stint in public relations, McCrea worked as a jobbing actor, a teacher, a bookseller, a teacher and for an arson investigator.

Aside from his series novels, he has written YA novels, pulp sendups and comedies under the name Bob Madison.
