Shiloh Walker, a writer of exception, of sex, of mystery, of the paranormal, of science fiction, separately, and sometimes all rolled into one. Prolific in her writing under her name and her pseudonym, “JC Daniels”, Walker began her writing career in 2003. Her first book was, “Her Best Friend’s Lover” published as an eBook, and at last count, she has 104 books by her or done under her pseudonym’s name.
Asked why she added a pseudonym to her repertoire, Shiloh said it was for two reasons. The first being to attempt to bring some order to her very hectic writing life so she could spend some time with her husband and family, and the other was to give her contractual freedom to do some of her own publishing. She finds it an exciting and rewarding challenge to be able to ePublish, and her readers have been blessed with some “fill the time in between the big books” with short stories and a few out of series’ experiences that have gone to keep the appetite for her books at its peak.
As well as a writer, she has a little bit of an activist streak in her, and good for her too. She has been poked with book piracy and has spent considerable time addressing this issue on behalf of herself and all other writers. It is a shame that this issue has had to be addressed and taken away from her writing. Also, she has terminated one series that was well-loved by her readers because of the piracy.
Born in the backwoods of Kentucky, her interest in books and writing came at an early age and like just about any life-changing event, her interest was triggered by something. That “something” happened to be a very uninspiring schoolteacher that allowed Shiloh’s mind to wander, and as she said, it was “voices in my head” that lead her to writing her first book.
Following high school, Shiloh put writing far from her mind and entered a career in nursing. That diversion did not last long, and she was soon back on the path to writing her first book.
Shiloh now lives in Jeffersonville, Indiana with her husband and three children, who she says are “growing way too fast. She is “living a life that allows her to write full-time, and with an average of 8.7 books per year, no one can dispute her commitment to the enjoyment of the 1000’s of readers who wait expectantly and anxiously for her next winning title.
Sex, Romance and …..
Sex, romance and steam, the pitter and pattering of the heart, the exhaling of the breath, the sweaty palms and the hot flushes, all rolled up into the fantasy world of erotica books by Shiloh Walker. The scenes come alive in the mind, and in the senses, and we could wish we were so lucky. The first series published as ebooks, included such titles as “Whipped Cream and Handcuffs.” That in itself sets off visions of ecstasy, romance, taste, sex and more sex, and playfulness, and right up to 2008, the eBooks continue with 86 more erotic titles to steam, sweat and pitter patter your way through.
Others
Shiloh also began a series in 2004 called the “Hunters”. This series, beginning with “Hunters: The Beginning,” published in June 2004, includes twenty-one books, ending with the last book in the series published in April, 2012.
The series is based upon vixens, witches, werewolves, vampires, fairytale princes, and sex and more sex. As Shiloh Walkers says with the description of each book, “did I mention the sex? Don’t say you weren’t warned…” This series is the penultimate of erotica and hits home with what 1000’s of readers wait for.
Whew! Enough to take your breath away, and take a cold shower, and the temperature does not cool down with her other books written under her pen name, “J.C. Daniels”. So far, J.C has written a total of eight books, and the Urban Fantasy Series continues in the same vein as the hunters. The core of the stories centers around “Kit Colbana”, from an ancient line of warriors, who is called on to use all her skills to save others and herself. There are all sorts of climatic scenes where Kits live is continually put in danger, but she manages to pull through battling the fantasy foes, all while JC providing an amazing stage for the next book.
And Two of the Specifics
To give a flavor of the writings of Shiloh Walker, perhaps the best way is to provide a brief review of just two of her books. We will start where it all began, with the “Her Best Friend’s Lover”.
The title, “Her Best Friend’s Lover,” provides a pretty clear indication of what this book is all about. One can also envision, steamy sex, intrigue and more sex and that is what happens. Two best friends, a man, and a woman, “until one hot, steamy night” that all changes. Passion, desire, and the smell of sex, all rolled up to explode with a finale that will leave you exhausted and hanging. It all goes to prove what one psychologist said, “men and women can never just be best friends”.
Moving to more recently, Shiloh has not lost her touch with “Beautiful Scars,” published in 2013, where “Some scars cut right to the heart.” This is a story about a woman divorced for three years, no relationship, and she turns to an escort agency for money and sex. Little does she know that on a fateful night, she will meet up with Marc Archer, a friend, who has never seen her more than a friend. But, that fateful night begins an obsession with Marc to see what has caused the scars that cut right to the hearts.
Awards
In 2012, Shiloh hit the big time with not just one award, but four in total. She was a finalist, and that is an award by itself, in 3 book categories in the National Reader’s Choice Awards. The three categories she was a finalist in were, Romantic Suspense – “Did I mention Sex?”, Paranormal, and Novella. As well, she was awarded the Reviewer’s Choice Award in the self-publishing category for “Blade Runner.”
Shiloh is worthy of the recognition and with her prolific and loyal following, this is bound to be just a start for her in her longstanding career of writing.
Steam, Sex, and More Sex
Shiloh Walker and her Pseudonym, “JC Daniels” have hit a home run with how to write what sells. Sex, more Sex, fantasy, and action. A great evening and you never know, what fantasy reading her books may for tell. “Did I mention sex?”
