Shin Kyung-Sook is a Korean author. Born in 1963, they are known for writing works of fiction. Their debut book was titled Please Look After Mother, later alternatively titled Please Look After Mom.

She is one of South Korea’s most frequently read authors. She has been awarded various literary prizes, including the Dong-in Literature Prize, the Manhae Literature Prize, and the Yi Sang Literary Prize.

Shin Kyung-Sook has also received literary accolades from France. Her debut book was a best selling international sensation that has sold over a million and a half copies.

Please Look After Mom is the debut book from Shin Kyung-Sook. It is the moving story of a family that is searching for their mother who has gone missing. Along the way, they find out about secrets, heartaches and desires that they never realized that she had.

When 69 year old So-nyo gets separated from her spouse among the crowds in the Seoul subway station and goes missing, her kids are consumed with their own sadness and guilt about it. They do not know what they did wrong for this to happen.

They are posting missing flyers all over throughout the city, trying to get any tips or hints from people who may have seen her. They are desperate to find her and want more than anything to be reunited. However, once they start looking for So-nyo, they end up finding more about her than they ever thought possible.
