Shonda Czeschin Fischer is a published author.

She is married and is not only a wife to her husband Craig but has been married for over two decades and has two children. She has worked in children’s ministry along with her husband for years at the church they attend.

Shonda enjoys writing books that are able to show the love of God. Some of her favorite things to do are reviewing books, reading, traveling, writing, and finding out more about anything that has to do with history.

Main character Viola Branson has just gotten out of finishing school. Now that she’s done with that for the moment, she finds that she wants to take a break from all the business of city life.

She decides to leave St. Joseph, Missouri behind and so decides to get on a train to go to travel to Once Over, Colorado, to visit her grandmother. She is looking forward to the trip as the memories from her childhood of working to preserve the strawberries and finding love in her grandmother’s arms makes her want to experience that again.

When she gets there, she encounters a friend from childhood who is now all grown up and quite handsome. She cannot believe how much Collin has matured and she thought that one time in her life that she would be with him and was quite smitten with him.

It seems like it’s fate that they’ve run into each other. Viola wonders whether they will be able to be friends again, managing to get over all of the old hurts of the past. Can they do what it takes to be together, or will it all be too much for them to move past? Read this book to find out!

Then everything changes when a man comes unexpectedly down from the mountains and into her life. Owen is half Cherokee Indian, and he comes into her world at a time where she was not expecting to meet anyone new.

He is handsome and has a heart of gold that she sees shining. But when it comes to the people living in her community, all that they see is an Indian who happens to have mixed blood. But everyone is about to have a huge awakening when they find that the flu hits their small town.

Suddenly everyone is sick and the local doctor needs someone to help him out. Abby is falling hard for the handsome man, but with all of the dynamics that are happening in the town, is a relationship between the two of them even something that is possible or a hopeful fantasy?

The color of his skin should not define who a man is, but it does in this case. Will they be able to have some type of relationship and make their love for each other a reality, or will Abby and Owen have to part ways as the world will not tolerate their passion?

There is no telling what will happen between the two of them, but the reader might have an inkling of where this is going.
