Murder at the Bookstore is the first book in The Bookstore Mystery series by Sue Minix. If you have been looking for a cute mystery to check out that you can try to solve yourself along the way, look no further!
Jen is a crime writer, and she’s come back to her home town. She has a best selling book under her belt but at the same time, she is also having a bit of a problem trying to write her latest book. She decides that she can wait out her writer’s block in a local bookstore with a lot of coffee fueling her as she waits for inspiration to hit her and give her the urge to write more material.
The last thing that she ever expected would be for the bookstore owner to pass away due to strange circumstances. Just like that, Jen is finding that she has a murder in real life that she has to solve.
She finds that things are even more important regarding this case when evidence is found at the scene of the crime that puts her there. The stakes are higher than ever as she is apparently the inheritor of the bookstore once the will is read.
Jen didn’t anticipate that happening either, but it’s happened. Now she has to really clear things up and clear her name by solving this crime. Can she do it before a killer claims another victim? Or will she find out that she is about to seriously go down for a crime that she didn’t commit and that having writer’s block is the least of her problems? Read this novel to find out!
The Murderous Type is the second book in The Bookstore Mystery series by Sue Minix. If you read the second book in this series and really liked it, be sure to give this story a try!
Jen is a crime writer and now she has taken to solving crimes in her spare time. Why not try your hand at something that you write about all the time? What could be the harm?
Jen has now changed things up in her life even more by taking over the bookstore in her hometown, Riddleton. She’s gone from composing books to being surrounded by them. However, balancing books at Ravenous Readers may be small potatoes when it comes to being able to meet her new novel’s deadline for being written.
She’s got a lot on her plate, and not a lot of time to get it accomplished. Jen has been trying to find the inspiration to write, but she’s also been trying to avoid calls from her editor because she knows that she isn’t going to have the sentences ready that her editor wants to hear. Desperate to get some pages done, Jen is concerned when she finds out that the police chief in town has been poisoned and is now dead.
She should be working on her story, but sometimes being a detective is more important. Jen knows that it’s the perfect time to put on her detective hat and get down to business to finally solve a murder.
Jen has very little time to work with. Much of the people in town could easily be a real suspect for the crime and there has also been evidence that’s been planted that makes things look bad for Eric, her friend and the local police officer.
Now she’s got even more reason to solve the crime. Can she put her head to the task and ultimately track down a killer? Or is she about to find that she should’ve just stuck to finishing her book instead of getting involved in a case of true crime? Read this book from Sue Minix to find out!
