Susan Stoker is a well known author from Texas, United States, who has written a number of highly successful novels based on the Contemporary Romance, Suspense and Young Adult genres. She has successfully written a couple of novel series that which have helped her to establish herself as a reputed author.

The people around her believe that she has a very big heart, as big as the state of Texas. Even though she lives permanently in Texas, she has spent a major span of her life in other states like Colorado, Missouri, Indiana and California.

In fact, Susan has spent around 14 years of her life in these places before settling permanently in Texas as a full time author. She has a lovely nature of dealing with people and always believes that romance is necessary in life in order to connect with people around us.

She herself is quite romantic at heart and met her loving husband through an old online socializing site, Hotmail classified, before the emergence of the popular social networks and dating websites. Susan has mentioned in her interviews that she was very fond of reading romance, right from her middle school.

She had the habit of crossing out the names of the main characters of the books that she used to read and replace them with the name of her choice, if she felt the need to do so in order to make it more interesting to read for herself.

She used to frequently write the names of his crush in place of the male characters of the novels and her own name in place of the female characters of the series. This way, she felt that her love for her crush grew more and more as well as her interest in reading the romance novels.

Before becoming an established author, Susan had spent a lot of time in writing scenes for different stories. In fact, she has spent many years developing her characters and the storylines before publishing them one after the other.

This habit has allowed Susan Stoker to develop her writing skills and increased her interest and passion in the art of writing romance novels. She says that reading and writing romance novels have always been her first love, but other than that, she also loves to take care of her pet dogs and has a great passion for adopting different breeds of dogs.

She likes to adopt them from rescue shelters and groups and take personal care about their health and well being. Along with her husband, Susan has rescued a total of 9 dogs and have taken good care of them. The list of different breeds of dogs owned by her includes a variety of bloodhounds and basset hounds. Susan likes to take a close look at the behavior and activities of her pet dogs and becomes very much worried if any of them starts behaving weirdly.

Most of the novels written by Susan are written by her in a happily ever after style of endings and do not depict any cliffhangers. The first novel series written by her is comprised of 6 different books, whereas her second novel series is a trilogy.

Susan has also written a few standalone novels and several short stories in her career and she still continues to contribute to her novel series whenever she gets time from her busy schedule and daily activities. The first novel series written by Susan Stoker was called ‘SEAL of Protection’ and consists of a total of six novels published between the years 2014 and 2015.

The first novel of the series was self published by Susan under the title ‘Protecting Caroline’ and deals with the love story of Matthew Steel and Caroline. The opening sequence of the plot of the novel depicts Matthew as a Navy SEAL. He is often referred to as Wolf by the people around him because of his nature similar to that of the wolves. Matthew hated flying in commercial planes.

Luckily for him, he had not had to do it very often because of his job as a Navy SEAL. He finds himself unlucky when he comes to know that he has been assigned a middle seat on the jet. But, fortunately for him, he becomes successful in making the woman next to him agree to change seats. As he hopes of having a good flight, Matthew becomes surprised very pleasantly knowing that the woman next to him had a good sense of humor and was willing to have a good conversation with him.

He thinks that his flight of 36,000 feet high over the countryside will be a satisfying one in the presence of the woman next to him. The woman, whose name is Caroline is travelling to Virginia in order to take up her new job. When she finds Matthew on the seated next to her, she thinks that she had never seen a guy as hot as him.

In fact, she had never expected that her journey would become such a pleasant one. Caroline had also not expected that Matthew will be very easy to talk with. She is also aware of the fact that, he would have never been interested in talking to her in the first place if he was not allotted to sit on the seat next to her’s. Both of them feel the journey had become a nice ride because of their pleasant talking.

However, they were not aware of the fact that their journey was going to become difficult due to a terrorist hijacking of their plane. Caroline begins to feel that it is going to be the last journey of her life and expects Matthew to help her get out of the deadly situation.

But, Matthew had no plans of involving himself in danger, showing his true nature of being a wolf. The plot of the novel takes a different turn as the situation keeps getting dangerous, while the characters feel the threat to their life. The second novel of the series was also self published by Susan in the year 2014.

It was titled ‘Protecting Alabama’. The plot of the novel deals with the main characters, Alabama and Christopher Powers. Alabama is introduced as a physically and emotionally abused school going girl as she gets frequently abused by her mama and did not have a good beginning of her life.

As she had seen many rejections and failures in her life, Alabama had learned to rely only on herself. The people around her had let her down many times and she did not expect anything better from them. On the other hand, Christopher was called by the nickname ‘Abe’ as he expected absolute honesty and nothing else from the people around him.

He was the friend of Wolf from the first novel of the series. Seeing him live happily with the woman of her dreams, Abe also wishes to find someone with whom he can share the happenings of his life. Soon, the paths of Abe and Alabama cross as their prayers get answered.

However, it does not come to them easily as they are required to fight for getting their wishes fulfilled. They realize that their lives will not be as they has wished if they do not fight hard enough to get the things done for themselves and in the end they become successful in achieving their target after passing through a lot of difficulties.

   There are also a lot of books that cross into the different series written by other authors. The characters and storylines are amazing I’m hooked. The only problem is there is no ‘order to read’ with all the overlapping books and authors. so I personally found that I start with one author and read their books that may make sense after reading another author’s second book or only in relation to one of Susan’s!!

   i am beginning to see there is a tie in from the different series. It would be helpful to have a list of books in order – not of publication – but of sequence. Like Rescuing Sadie is supposed to take place After Rescuing Casey (book 7) and before rescuing Wendy (book 8). And after listening to rescuing Wendy and then going back to Rescuing Sadie, the opening chapter leads me to believe there is something before that for Sadie and Chase. And of course I know the Seal of protection series comes before Delta Force Heroes Series. And of Course Assisting Aimee (Delta Force Heroes Book 1.5) doesnt even show up on this list.

     Just a note that Assisting Aimee is on the list. It goes by both Rescuing Aimee and Assisting Aimee so I will update the listing to reflect that. And unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with this series and it doesn’t look like the author has listed the chronological order at all. I will have a look into it but if you know the chronological order feel free to share as that would be very helpful. Thanks.
