Tamron Hall
Tamron Hall is an author, TV talk show host, and journalist. She was born September 16, 1970 in Luling, Texas, where she grew up. Her dad was career military, serving in the US Army for three decades, and her mom was an educator.

In 1992, Tamron got her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Temple University, after which she moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in order to start her broadcasting career.

She first worked at KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas, as a general assignment reporter, before moving to KTVT in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1994, spending four more years as a general assignment reporter.

From 1997 until 2007, she worked for WFLD in Chicago, Illinois. She held down several positions, including consumer reporter, general assignment reporter, and host of Fox News in the Morning, a three hour program. Tamron would frequently report on issues that were related to Chicago politics, and covered many breaking news stories, which includes one of the most devastating Amtrak accidents in Illinois.

In July of 2007, she joined the national news network NBC News and MSNBC. She also landed a one-on-one interview with Barrack Obama before he announced his 2008 run for US President.

In 2010, she hosted “NewsNation with Tamron Hall”, which included some high-profile interviews and coverage of global, entertainment, and US news. Airing on weekday afternoons, the show covered important American events, including a live TV broadcast from Ground Zero in New York City after Osama bin Laden’s death, the last space shuttle launch in 2011, and Hurricane Isaac in 2012.

From 2013 to 2019, she hosted “Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall” on Investigation Discovery. The newsmagazine series features 2 crime occurrences per every one hour episode. She and her investigative team uncover details about how and why things happened in every case, obtaining info from as many reputable sources as possible. She dedicated the show to her sister, whose death was ruled a homicide and is still unsolved.

Tamron has a son with Steven Greener, a music executive, who she began dating in 2017 and married in 2019.

She won an Edward R. Murrow Award for her reporting on domestic abuse and 2 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host for her talk show in 2020 and 2022. Tamron also won the 2010 Lew Klein Alumni in the Media award from Temple University and is an Alumni Hall of Fame Honoree.

“As the Wicked Watch” is the first novel in the “Jordan Manning” series and was released in 2021. This novel follows a reporter while she unravels the disturbing mystery around two young Black women’s deaths, which is the work of a serial killer that is terrorizing Chicago.

Jordan Manning (crime reporter) leaves her hometown in Texas in order to take a job at a TV station in Chicago, she is a step closer to her dreams: a coveted anchor chair on a national network.

Jordan is aggressive and smart, with some unabashed star power, and usually the only woman of color in the newsroom. Her signature is to arrive first on the scene, in impractical designer stilettos. Armed with her impeccable instincts and master’s degree in forensic science, and has been able to balance her dueling motivations: giving a voice to the voiceless and breaking every single big story.

From her time back in Texas, she has covered some of the vilest human behaviors, however nothing has prepared her for Chicago. She is that rare breed of journalist that is able to navigate a crime scene just as well as she can a newsroom, often noticing things that other people tend to miss. Over and over, she gets called in to cover the murders of Black women, many of whom were sexually assaulted, most were brutalized, and all of them are quickly forgotten.

All until Masey James, who is the story that Jordan is unable to shake, despite her best efforts. She was a 15 year old girl whose body was found in this abandoned lot, and she’s come to represent for Jordan all of the frustration and anger which her job generally forces her to simply repress. Putting the rest of her work and her own fraying personal life aside, she does everything that she can in order to give this story the coverage that it desperately requires, and that a missing Black child would rarely ever get.

There is a serial killer that’s on the loose, Jordan believes, and he is hiding in plain sight.

“Watch Where They Hide” is the second novel in the “Jordan Manning” series and was released in 2024. Journalist Jordan Manning returns while she dives into the case of a mom in danger and uncovers this dangerous web of secrets which could lead right to the missing woman she’s looking for, or put her right into the crosshairs of the people that abducted her.

Marla Hancock, after she dropped her kids off at preschool, vanishes. This stay-at-home mom recently left her verbally abusive husband in rural Indiana and moved in with Shelly, her sister, who just cannot believe that her sister would ever willingly disappear without her kids. However without much support from the town’s police department or media resources, she is afraid that Marla’s disappearance is not going to get the attention that it deserves, or worse, is going to go unsolved. Several weeks after she files a missing person’s report, she reaches out to Jordan Manning for some help.

After her reporting and investigative skills helped solve multiple murders, Jordan’s career in the newsroom is currently on the rise. She’s gained this reputation as more than your usual news reporter; a “fixer” with a vigilante edge, undeterred and dogged to seek out the truth. However even with this new status, she still feels pressured to prove herself as a young Black professional. When Shelly reaches out, she does feel compelled to do all that she can to locate Marla.

Jordan’s search turns and twists in ways that she never could have imagined, illuminating secrets and scandals which put her own life in grave danger.
