Taylor Hahn is an author known for her novels The Lifestyle and A Home for the Holidays. She has also written the novella The Wedding, the Winery, and Will. In addition to being an author, she is a lawyer and a mother.

Taylor is someone who has always enjoyed writing. While in the seventh grade, she wrote about an orange that fell in love with a pineapple. She continued to write and wrote a romantic comedy screenplay in high school featuring two lawyers in New York as well as serialized fiction titled “BFF” in the school paper that was all about a girl who was secretly in love with her closest guy friend.

While she may have been writing early, Taylor also had a problem. She never felt that she could understand how to transform writing into a career. She didn’t know any writers and writing felt inaccessible to her. While attending Loyola Marymount University, the author spent her freshman year as a screenwriting major. However, she was the only girl in the majority of her classes, which made her feel like an impostor.

Taylor wrote her silly love stories, where one was about a girl who had a magical bike that she tried to ride toward true love. Another story was about a writer falling in love with her English TA over their love of fiction, before giving up and switching her major to psychology. She became a second grade teacher in Brooklyn, then decided that it was time to pack up her dreams and go to Fordham Law School. She was practical but also admits that at the time she was obsessed with The West Wing.

The author says that law school changed her life. She acquired some debt but aside from that relates that it was the best thing that had ever happened to her. Taylor realized that she did belong in the type of spaces that never felt open to her before. They were spaces that belonged to smart people, men, to fictional characters on television. She got a job in Big Law with her own office and worked harder than she thought she was even capable of. She also would meet her husband there, getting married in 2016.

Throughout all this, Taylor says that she never lost her urge to write. She needed a creative outlet and started taking writing classes. When she had the idea for her first book she says that she became obsessed and wrote every weekend, having no social life but writing for herself.

The author went through years of infertility but then gave birth to her daughter in December of 2022. It was not too long after she lost her mother to alcoholism. She discovered that she was pregnant for the first time, about six weeks after her mother died. Every time she holds her daughter, it makes Taylor think of her mom.

She is married and resides in Los Angeles with her husband and their daughter.

The Lifestyle is the debut novel from author Taylor Hahn. This is a great book that is perfect for bringing along on vacation or just slinging along with you to the beach, on your way to work, or while stuck with some down time!

A Home for the Holidays is a 2024 novel by Taylor Hahn. This is a novel that is all about coming to terms with grief while also trying to give connections a chance and also how to find family and love in time for the holidays.
