Terri Thayer’s novel Wild Goose Chase is a brilliant story in which she introduces Dewey Pellicano the amateur sleuth and lead of the Quilting Mystery series. Dewey is a professional computer techie who would do anything to never be relegated to a life of quilting. However, when her mother dies, she has to leave the world of coding and get into calico since the Quilter Paradiso which belonged to her mother has been left to her. Between dealing with a conniving employee and learning the business, Dewey is feeling swamped and ready to snap. During a national quiltshow, Claire Armstrong a quilting celebrity offers her a lot of money to take the shop out of her hands. But before she can accept the offer, the famous quilter is found lying dead killed by a bloody rotary cutter. When Buster Healy the handsome homicide detective comes onto the scene, sparks fly only for another murder to throw a spanner into the works. Will Dewey be able to solve the mystery of the murders before the killer takes another life?
In the second novel of A Quilting Mystery series, Terri Thayer continues to tell the story of Dewey Pellicano who inherited a quilting shop from her mother. But her business is losing money and to salvage her finances she will need a big sale. Things get interesting when her neighbor finds a dead body next to her shop. Dewey is afraid that her genteel clients will not attend the sale if they come to know of the homicide. Some of her most loyal friends and customers, the elderly women who call themselves Bitch and Stich are having a tussle over a man. Even worse, Buster her boyfriend will not sleep with her leaving her frustrated, overworked, and worried that she cannot think straight. Meanwhile, her sister-in-law who believes she deserved to inherit the shop is working hard to sabotage any of her changes which makes things even more difficult for her. It is a great work with an interestign murder mystery that grips you from the first page right to the last.
Terri Thayer continues from where she left off with another great quilting mystery in Ocean Waves this of the A Quilting Mystery series. The big difference is that this is set at a quilting retreat rather than the quilt shop. Dewey Pellicano is attending the Sewing by the Sea Symposium in California where she intends to mix business with pleasure. However, her plan is ruined by the militant conference organizer Mercedes Madsen who is nothing like a director but more like a dictator. She finds herself in a lot of trouble as she also has to deal with a mountain on the lose, a stolen heirloom sewing box, the mystery of a missing woman, and a notorious ghost. Things get even worse when she stumbles upon a dead body. She only has her wits and a blueprint fabric which she will use to try to find a pattern in the recent homicides.
