A sickly young man uses his extraordinary math skills in order to stop time within defined areas of space time. This is going to change human history in ways that you would not at all expect.

“A Pause in Space Time” is the first novel in the “Stasis Stories” series and was released in 2019. Kaem Seba is a sickly and financially destitute young man that uses his extraordinary mathematics talents in order to work out this way to stop time inside of limited volumes of space time. He, along with Arya Vaii (a business student) set out to develop this phenomenon. It soon becomes obvious that, beyond the fact that time will stop inside of the stasis field, the volume of space time in stasis may just be useful for some of its other phenomenal properties.

Since it essentially cannot be altered (time gets stopped inside) it is strong than any other known substance and, unlike matter, doesn’t melt. It makes it the perfect material for building rocket engines. They set out to sell these engines in order to provide their budding business a big enough profit to allow them to develop other useful products.

But unfortunately the lab’s owner that tested the properties of their samples recognizes their potential too. His desire to share their profits unhinges his own shaky grip on reality. When he cannot talk them into allowing him join their enterprise, he demands a share at gunpoint.

“The Thunder of Engines” is the second novel in the “Stasis Stories” series and was released in 2020. Arya and Kaem are attempting to sell “stade”, which is what they call a piece of space time which is in stasis. Stade has some phenomenal mechanical properties since it essentially cannot be altered. It is stronger than any other known substance since, unlike matter, stade can’t be burnt, melted, bent, or broken. It is also a perfect insulator and will reflect all radiation.

Even though it is the perfect material for thousands of other purposes, they have initially focused on selling it to companies which can use it to build their rocket engines. Stade really shines under the extreme conditions of rocketry, and this renders it something precious. He and Arya struggle to negotiate the best prices that they can, as they simultaneously battle against another company’s bid to preempt their patent.

And as if these struggles weren’t enough, Kaem’s beloved dad develops cancer. Kaem has to attempt to help his family through such a crisis as he also tries saving the new company they are now calling “Staze”.

“Radiation Hazard” is the third novel in the “Stasis Stories” series and was released in 2020. Kaem and company are commercially developing “Stade”. Stade’s phenomenal properties allow it to reflect all radiation.

When this nearby nuclear reactor undergoes a meltdown, the first thought is that Stade may be used to limit all the radioactivity from this accident. However a bit of further thought makes it clear that Stade is also the perfect material to deal with radioactive waste.

They also become interested in using it to remediate a toxic chemical dump. They are still using it to build rocket engines. Also they have worked on plans for a space elevator.

“Halting the Reaper” is the fourth novel in the “Stasis Stories” series and was released in 2020. Kaem has been treated with gene therapy for the anemias which made him so very weak. Combining that with his fantastic memory, his newfound physical fitness is allowing him perform at a much higher level in his karate class.

The company that he, Gunnar Schmidt, and Arya Vaii founded in order to commercially develop his time-stopping discovery is beginning to make some money. Currently their profits are coming from their use of the phenomenal physical properties of this time stopped segment of space-time to build rockets.

However there’s people clamoring to also be able to use Kaem’s invention in order to stop time for those that are dying. No only the ones looking to stop a few years until there is some cure for their disease, but those patients that are in critical condition that’ll die for the lack of the right surgeon, the lack of blood, or because there are just too many sick patients for the hospital to save them all.

Oh, and they’re still working on their plans for a space elevator.

“A Tower in Space Time” is the fifth novel in the “Stasis Stories” series and was released in 2021. The company that Gunnar, Arya, and Kaem founded is now making money hand over fist. Their profits currently come from their use of the phenomenal physical properties of this time stopped segment of space time used to build rockets.

However they are now building their space tower. Taking off at a 30 degree angle from eastern Virginia, it is 100 kilometers high and 200 kilometers long. By placing the interior of their spacecraft and its passengers in stasis they’re able to accelerate launches at 15 gravities, reaching orbital speeds before the craft even leaves the rail. It allows them to put payloads into orbit for 1,000 times lower cost than a rocket. This world, and a few unscrupulous people, are turning to Kaem and his company to further our exploitation of orbital space.

“Deep Space—Hidden Tower” is the sixth novel in the “Stasis Stories” series and was released in 2021.Kaem, Gunnar, and Arya work with NASA to move into deep space.

Using the space tower from the previous book, they launch giant payloads into orbit so they can begin building this rotating wheel space station and launch a successor to the James Webb Space Telescope. Then they put this space launch tower up on the moon which is aimed at sending craft all around the solar system.

Unbeknownst to them, the Haliq (this race of aliens in the Epsilon Eridani system) is launching their own ships to the Sol system, and is intent on finding more space for their burgeoning population. Once they arrive, they’re alarmed to discover intelligent beings in the system they have come to populate, however their obvious solution is to exterminate the problematic humans.

These aliens have got advanced tech which allows them to jump across interstellar and interplanetary space. They do not have stasis however.
