Tom Hindle
Tom Hindle, originally from Leeds, spends his days in Oxfordshire, where he works at a digital PR agency and lives with two surprisingly cunning tortoises and his wife.

Tom is inspired by the masters of the crime genre, from Anthony Horowitz to Agatha Christie.

Tom has always loved mystery stories. Growing up he read “Harry Potter” and “Diamond Brothers” by Anthony Horowitz. He would watch “Scooby Doo” on Saturday mornings and “Midsomer Murders” on Sunday afternoons. Tales that involved curious clues, a huge cast of shifty suspects, and giant rug pull at the end would pull him right in. however he didn’t actually ever read any of Agatha Christie’s work until he began writing his own murder mystery.

“A Fatal Crossing” began as a play. He was in 6th form at the time, and the idea was to write something that he could perform with his friends. Only problem was that he had woefully underestimated how much work this would actually require, meaning he only made it to the end of the first act before they finished school and gone off to university. Then it lived on a memory stick for a number of years, until he decided it was time to have another go at it during his 20s.

“Murder on Lake Garda” came to him quite unexpectedly. He was on holiday in Italy, and while he was visiting this amazing castle in Malcesine, Tom saw this wedding taking place. It was quite the dramatic scene: the architecture, the landscape, the glamour of the ceremony; it immediately occurred to him that he was looking at a pretty fantastic opening to a murder mystery.

Having been to this location gave him the chance to soak in the ambiance was quite helpful. It instilled a desire to visit any locations which feature in future books.

Robyn (the hero of the novel) came quite quickly, as did the killer’s identity. However the murder itself was quite the tricky one to plot. Took a good couple of months to truly comprehend how it would happen, and to figure out why the killer he had in mind would commit this crime he was picturing.

Tom’s ambition during his teen years was to become a rock star. He played bass guitar in a band with two of his best friends, and they took it quite seriously, constantly writing new music and playing gigs around Leeds in nearly any venue that’d have them. He has not been part of any band for a number of years, yet he does still play. Besides writing, music is probably his greatest creative outlet.

“A Fatal Crossing” is the first stand alone novel and was released in 2022. November of 1924. The Endeavour is setting sail to New York with 2,000 passengers, as well as a killer on board.

When this elderly gentleman is discovered dead at the foot of a staircase, Timothy Birch (ship’s officer) is ready to declare this a tragic accident. However James Temple, this strong-minded Scotland Yard inspector, is sure that there’s more to this misfortune than meets the eye.

Timothy agrees to investigate, and the trail soon leads to a priceless painting’s theft. Its mere existence is known just to its owner, and the man now dead.

With only days left until they reach New York, and even Temple’s purpose on board the Endeavour proving to be increasingly suspicious, Timothy’s quest to find this culprit is fraught with all kinds of danger. And the whole time, the passengers keep roaming the ship with this killer in their midst.

With one twist after gut punching twist, here is a truly ingenious thriller novel. There is a clever and captivating plot and one final twist that will delight Agatha Christie’s fans. It is full of detail and texture that enhances the feeling of the halcyon days of the liners and their times. The action unfolds at this rip roaring pace in a perfectly executed homage to the Golden Age of crime, which features quite a deviously devised plot.

“The Murder Game” is the second stand alone novel and was released in 2023. Nine guests in a house, with an endless amount of motives for murder.

The guests are all assembling at Hamlet Hall for this New Year’s Eve party to remember.

They’re to take part in this murder mystery game with a 1920s twist to it, and everybody has got their own part to play in it. However the evening’s hardly started when this one guest is discovered dead, having been killed by an injury to the head.

It is clear that somebody is playing by their own rules. And in this close-knit community, old rivalries run deep.

“Murder on Lake Garda” is the third stand alone novel and was released in 2024. Two divided families, a happy couple, and a wedding to die for.

On the private island of Castello Fiore, which is surrounded by the glittering waters of Lake Garda, the illustrious Heywood family is gathered together for their son Laurence’s wedding to Eva Bianchi, an Italian influencer.

However while the ceremony is starting, this blood curdling scream brings the proceedings to a devastating halt.

With these wedding guests being trapped while they wait for the police to show up, some old secrets are brought to light and some family rivalries threaten to bubble over.

Everybody is desperate to know: who’s the killer? And can they be caught before they can kill again?

“Death in the Arctic” is the fourth stand alone novel and was released in 2025. A frozen wilderness, and a killer in the skies.

When Chloe Campbell, an aspiring travel writer, gets invited aboard this luxury airship that is flying to the North Pole, she believes she has bagged the chance of a lifetime.

However she has not had too long to even admire the dazzling icy views before this fellow passenger is discovered dead in their cabin.

Trapped at the top of the world, this group agrees that a tragic accident has occurred. However while the hours tick on by, fear becomes doubt. It appears that everybody is a suspect in this case. And it is not all that long before the passengers start turning on one another.
