Tracy Crump is an American author, editor, and speaker.

She lives in the state of Mississippi in the northern region. She has been married to her husband Stan for several decades. The two share two sons together and multiple grandchildren. She thinks that Grandma is the best word that can exist in the English language.

She likes that the family has the ‘best of both worlds’ where they live. They have farmland and forests all around their subdivision and get to hear the cattle and the owls. Two lakes is a great view for going on long walks, and they have all the benefits of living near the close by big city of Memphis. Tracy also loves spending time with her husband, children, daughters in law, and grandchildren.

From the age of ten years old, Tracy has always wanted to be a nurse. She attended the Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with top honors. After that, Tracy worked in the ICU for five years.

She transferred on there to her calling in life, having and raising her children. Her sons were home schooled and graduated from that and went on to attend college. Tracy never planned that she would become a writer, but she has since then written many pieces and has seen many of them published. She has even conducted workshops and spoken at writing conferences, something that surprised her because she was shy.

Tracy has always felt strongly about writing and it has helped her to assist others in improving their craft. This is through the form of such things as a newsletter founded by Crump in 2008 and co-founding Write Life Workshops with MaryJane Wade Koch, her writing partner. Together they conduct writing workshops.

She would then go on to start editing, which she started in part because her husband thought she was gifted at it. Now she has even completed her own book in entirety, which is filled with devotional stories from the time that she worked as a nurse and caregiver.

Her writing has appeared in such publications as Mature Living, The Upper Room, Woman’s World, ParentLife, and Focus on the Family. She has also been featured in Guideposts books. Tracy was a columnist featured in Southern Writers Magazine for over four years and had her articles regularly published in three different newspapers.

She has graduated from C.L.A.S.S. and was picked to be the Writer of the Year by the Memphis American Christian Writers Conference. She also held national writing contests while belonging to the National League of American Pen Women. Tracy has been the Mid-South Christian Writers Conference’s registrar for seven years and continues to be the owner and moderator of the KCW Mentoring Group.

The author has long been regarded as someone who keeps stories, and has contributed many stories to anthologies including Chicken Soup for the Soul. She even teaches workshops on how to write for Chicken Soup, and has an online course that sells well on Serious Writer. She has also worked as a freelance editor on different fiction and nonfiction books, such as Kidnapped by a Client. She also proofreads Farmers’ Almanac.

When it comes to improving your writing skills, Tracy has her opinions. She thinks that the top two things that you can do are to go to a conference and then to join a group where they can critique your work. Crump also thinks that she personally would not have made it to being published today if not for the fact that she went to a conference. She has since seen the value of it at that conference and has run several groups on her own. She advises potential authors to pay attention to these two things, saying that it will be the sole thing that can help you work on your skills and get your career moving in a more forward direction.

She has written a 2021 book all about her experiences while working as a nurse and caregiver called Health, Healing and Wholeness. Tracy says that she is also working on a book for caregivers, collaborating with another author on the book. The book was initially proposed as a devotional, and the proposal was revised and resubmitted to be more of a Christian living book, and the process is ongoing.

Health, Healing and Wholeness: Devotions of Hope in the Midst of Illness is the first book to come out from Tracy Crump. If you have a strong belief in your Christian faith or just are interested in what this book has to share, give it a try.

It’s said that when we are in the midst of being healthy, we take it for granted. But when injury or illness hits, where are you supposed to go in order to get help? It doesn’t matter how bad the prognosis is, says the author, you can always turn to Jesus and find some hope and healing.

Tracy Crump was an intensive care nurse for many years and saw miracles that were involved in medical cases where it seemed like everyone involved was ready to walk away with the exception of God.

Tracy has also been a carer for people that include family and friends who have been major crises when it comes to their health and has given up encouragement regardless of the situation, while knowing that in this life not everyone is able to experience healing.
