Vela Roth manifested unstable writing powers from a young age, and many of her earliest experiments had some unintended results. While she grew, this curriculum of fantasy novels with strong heroines helped her learn to better wield her abilities.

Eventually she dared to pursue the knowledge inside of the most forbidden of tomes: romance novels. She has been practicing the dark arts of fantasy romance ever since that time, however still strives to use her noveling powers just for good. She works to write tales that blend the passion of romance with the rich worlds of fantasy.

Vela has pursued a career in academia, worked as a book formatter and web designer, and stayed home as a full time caregiver for her loved ones with severe illnesses. Writing through her own trauma and grief, she created the “Blood Grace” series, which offers comfort to readers all around the world.

Vela lives in this solar powered writer’s garret in the Southwestern United States, finding inspiration in the mountains and growing roses in the desert. Her feline familiar is this rescue cat called Milly with a big heart and a missing fang.
