When it comes to the rules, sometimes some rules are made to be broken. For Soren, he is someone who is astonished, and that doesn’t happen often. When it comes to Vi Malone, he feels that he has never met someone in his life ever who seems so determined to mess up their life and everything that they have going for them.

In his eyes, Vi is just a step away from disaster. But the thing is, he cannot and will not stop his efforts to save her. Then he starts thinking that maybe Vi could step in and save him too. If she were to pose as his girlfriend for a few weeks and pretend to be his love interest, it might end up going a long way to help fix his beat up reputation.

The only thing is that he must take care to not break his rule, which is to never get emotionally involved. Still, Soren thinks that this could be a good idea and he might even end up pursuing it if it means that he will benefit and if he can avoid the danger of falling for her. Then there’s Vi.

For her part, Vi has never met someone in her life that seems like they are trying to piss her off. Soren Brehm must apparently think that he is her own personal superhero just because he has something that she needs, but she knows that this guy isn’t going to be able to solve all of her problems with just his smile and a second bedroom.

But then Vi starts to spend some more time with him and starts to reconsider what she thought. She perceived him as being some shallow football star, but the more that she begins to interact with him the more that she starts to realize that he actually sees her for who she is.

Vi doesn’t think that she personally is a damsel in distress that needs to be saved, but she’s starting to realize that she might just need him in her life. Can she pretend to be his girlfriend without falling for him? Or is there already too much between her and Soren for Vi to deny? Read this romance to find out whether the two fall for each other!

Front Runner is the second book in the Wild Card series by Nikki Hall. If you love a good romance or you read the first book in the series and enjoyed it, be sure to check this book out!

Off limits didn’t mean much to Parker Shaw before, but he’s about to find out that that is about to change. The football player is also the captain of the college football team, and he is not prepared for the feelings that he is about to feel stirred up in him thanks to the new receiver.

But it may be a little too late to act on the way he feels for Riley, also known as RJ. Riley has not forgotten that he took her for being a ball bunny when they met for the first time, and on top of that, she wants to join the team.

Riley is going to be the new receiver for the team and she’s the only female player among all of them and so is fighting to defend her spot on the team. Parker wants nothing more than to take the team to the championship, but he’s also having a tough time focusing on his goals when he’s so distracted by RJ.

Even if there were any way he could get Riley to give him a shot, the new coach of the team has a rule that there’s no fraternization. As long as this girl’s on the team, she’s officially off-limits. Which of course only drives Parker crazier. But she’s hiding a secret of her own, and is having a hard time admitting to herself that she’s potentially interested in the football player as well.

As Riley and Parker make their way through the various challenges posed by the football team and life, will they find that they have an undeniable connection? Or will football come first as Parker reluctantly sticks to the rules and avoids fraternizing with his teammate? Read this scintillating romance from Nikki Hall, second in the Wild Card series, to find out!
