He grew up in West Tennessee, where he would take his bike along the rural roads that had wild blackberry bushes all around. These were in the days before urban sprawl had taken over. He would go on those long bike rides thinking of new worlds of adventure.
For Bill, childhood was just one interesting activity after another. He loved doing all types of things, from playing football in the front yard to playing with naval miniatures. From the start, though, reading was the center pillar of his life and part of his foundation.
Bill found that all types of books were good, but the ones that were the most fascinating to him were the ones that had anything to do with military history. By the time that he became a teen, he had found many different authors he liked, from J.R.R. Tolkien to Robert Heinlen. He was frequently reading, to the point where teachers had to take comic books physically from out of his hands while he was in classes where he was supposed to be learning things like Accounting or Spanish.
He then went on to college, where he majored in creative writing and history at the University of Memphis. Afterwards, he went on to writing history and nonfiction. He was published a variety of times in places such as World War Two magazine. He would go on to write Standing the Final Watch in 2014, starting a career in fiction at the age of sixty.
He has spent all of his life learning how to tell stories. It is the only thing that he ever wanted to do is to entertain and inspire other people the way that he had been. He resides in west Tennessee with his wife and many dogs. He says that life has turned out better than he could have dreamed and never forgets that it is the readers that make this possible for him. He believes that readers who spend money and time to read the works of a writer deserve the best that they have to offer, and tries to deliver on this covenant between writer and reader.
Webb belongs to the International Authors of Science Fiction Authors, the Society for Military History, the Science Fiction Writers of America, and the Alliance of Independent Authors. He has come up with his own unique voice or writing style over the years. Today he has written both fiction and nonfiction.

Standing in the Storm is the second book in The Last Brigade series by William Alan Webb. If you thought that the first book in this series was full of adventure, you are really going to enjoy this action packed sequel.

They might be outgunned and outnumbered, but the 7th Cavalry is not going to be outfought. They have to stand in the story or see their country die a death that this time might just be final.
