Yellowstone series by Peggy Henderson

Author Peggy Henderson pens the “Yellowstone” series of time travel romance novels. The series began publication in the year 2012, when “Yellowstone Heart Song” was released. The series features both novels and short stories to it.

The series takes place back in the mountain man era two hundred years ago and is set near Yellowstone. People are able to travel back in time and wind up having romances with people.

“Yellowstone Heart Song” is the first novel in the “Yellowstone” series, which was released in the year 2012. This novel stars Daniel Osborne and Aimee Donovan. Aimee Donovan, who is an avid backpacker and a nurse, is offered the opportunity of a lifetime. A patient where she works is able to send her back two whole centuries, so she can spend three months in the Yellowstone wilderness during the beginning of the mountain man era. The only rule is she cannot tell anyone she is from the future.

How did this white lady appear out of nowhere in the remote wilderness in the Rocky Mountains? Daniel Osborne, a trapper, has an initial instinct to keep this mysterious and unconventional woman from every harsh reality found in his mountains. While he fights his growing attraction for her, he is frustrated by all of her lies and secrecy. Daniel shows off parts of Yellowstone to Aimee that she has never gotten to experience before.

She winds up torn by the feelings she has for him, and exposing the secret she is keeping that would destroy all he knows as truth. Her three months in Yellowstone are close to ending, and she has a dilemma. She can stay with the guy that opened her eyes up to a whole new world or go back into her own time. The choice winds up being made for her, and it is going to change their lives forever.

This is a rare novel for some, as it came along and did everything right for them. Each of the characters feels real and it tells a great story. Peggy Henderson is able to pull you into the story and hold your attention all the way through.

“Yellowstone Redemption” is the second novel in the “Yellowstone” series, which was released in the year 2012. This novel stars Chase Russell and Sarah Osborne. Chase Russell, who is a city boy and a star athlete, is well on the way to total self-destruction. He is having troubles with drugs and booze. Doing the community service sentence he was handed in Yellowstone National Park is the last thing he wants to do. After he spends a night drinking in the park, he wakes only to find all his friends gone, and everything surrounding him has been changed.

Sarah Osborne was raised within the rugged Yellowstone wilderness. She is able to track and hunt with the most experienced guys. Indians leave a guy near death on her door, and she is unsure of what to think about it. He is certain that he comes from the future, and looks for any way to go back home.

Chase has no idea how he wound up time traveling back into the past. He is not sure what to do when it comes to surviving without the conveniences of modern times. Finding food just means heading over to the nearest fast food place, not actually hunting and foraging for it.

Again and again, his own will is going to be tested so that he can survive in this untamed land. Will his growing love for a brave lady who shows him what it truly means to be a man going to be enough to keep in this time? Or will he be dead set on going back to the ease and comforts found in the future?

For some, this one was even better than the first in the series. Each of the experiences and trials Chase and Sarah go through make their relationship grow with each other.

“Yellowstone Awakening” is the third novel in the “Yellowstone” series, which was released in the year 2012. This novel stars Kyle Russell and Kate Ellen Devereaux. A man that will risk it all, including all he has worked for and his life, so that he can free the woman he loves from an impossible situation.

Kyle Russell has worked with prominent men, led quite a few scouting expeditions through the Yellowstone country, and pissed off more than his own fair share of Indian braves in his time. He is never going to duplicate the legendary accomplishments of his dad. He gets captured by a group of Crow warriors. Any plans he may have had of escaping become dashed after a white lady is taken into the camp.

Kate Ellen Devereaux is now on the run. Her guardian has died, and has gotten lost in the Yellowstone wilderness. Some Indian war party discovered her, before bringing her into the camp and throw her at the feet of a white prisoner’s feet. His plans to escape will have to include her too, now.

Kyle’s father may have been a legend in this territory, but he never once had to deal with some eastern woman filled with a ton of secrets. One that disrupts Kyle’s plans to see Yellowstone turned into a national park. Getting her to see that the two are destined to be with each other could be a tougher challenge than getting support for the park idea.

Kate cannot afford to be showing any interest in any guy at all, regardless of the building attraction to her backwoods country rescuer. Does her ultimate reason for rejecting him spell doom in some way for the growing love they both have going for each other, as well as the national park idea? Or can Kyle find a way to rescue both?

This is a great one, as you get to see Kyle as he brings Kate out of herself a lot in this one and makes her a much better character. She unfolds from a quiet and withdrawn woman into a strong and determined person who is able to deal with her own problems.
