Alison Littlewood is a great British author who has done a number of novels. She began her writing career back in 2011 when she published her pioneer novel. She mainly writes short stories and horror novels you will find amazing. Alison Littlewood is a great woman besides being an author. She is married and currently lives with her partner Fergus near Wakefield, West Yorkshire. She loves writing and reading new novels and this is the reason why spends most of her free times reading new novels. Today, Alison Littlewood has written a number of novels and short stories you will enjoy reading. She was raised up in Penistone, South Yorkshire. After her secondary school, she joined the University of Northumbria, which is currently known as the Northumbria University in Newcastle. She graduated with a degree in English and History from the university instead of her originally planned course of graphic design. The idea to change the course came after she misses the words very much and later made her mind to do English and History. Prior to her love for writing that she began in 2011, she decided to follow her career in marketing. When she finally decided to leave her career, she began writing and her work can now be found online and locally.
In her writing career, she has always been nominated for several awards due to her great experience in writing. For example, she was nominated as the winner of the August Derleth Awards. This was for her novel entitled “Path of Needles” in 2014. In the same year, Alison Littlewood also got to be nominated for the Shirley Jackson Award for her book known as “Unquiet House”. After these double nominations in the same year, the author has been nominated as a winner for other awards again.
Her career for writing began back in 2011. This was the year she published her pioneer novel, which is known “A Cold Season”. After her first book, she has been able to write a wide range of books that have been read all over the globe. Her second novel was written in 2013 and this was entitled as “Path of Needles”. She has also written with other authors like Mark West and Peter Mark among others.
A Cold Season
This is the genesis novel that was done by Alison Littlewood back in 2011. The novel is also the first book in her initial series. The novel was published on 1st January 2012 and has about 384 pages. The horror book is now available online for easy access. The protagonist character in the novel is known as Cass. She was the wife to the late Pete, who was a soldier. After the death of her husband, she is now left with their young son Ben. Cass is in the course of building her new life. To get started, she has opted to go back to the village where she grew up. Surprisingly, Cass finds her new home in a totally different situation. The walls of the home have strange graffiti, which makes her very worried. Besides this, the villagers she knew now are a bit odd and she is totally confused.
While back at home, an unexpectedly heavy snowstorm maroons the entire village. This makes even things worse for Cass and her son Ben. Despite Ben changing to be surly and aggressive to the hard life back in the village, to Cass things are on the contrary. This is because her only confidant is the charming and smooth Theodore Remick, which is the stand-in headmaster. Due to the growing closeness between Cass and the headmaster, the villagers aren’t happy about the situation. As time goes on, the relationship between the two becomes something obvious and everyone in the village is surprised. The surprise isn’t about Cass, but the headmaster who has now changed from the one they once knew.
As Cass gets close to the headmaster, she has no idea that her family has always been a target by the Theodore Remick. Later, she gets to find out that it is not the first time their family has been targeted by Theodore Remick. This means that for Cass to protect her son, Ben, then she has to fight back. But is it late for Cass to fight back? The only challenge that she has it that the stakes are now much higher and kind of immeasurable. Do you think she was able to fight and protect her son? Path of Needles
This is the second novel that was written by Alison Littlewood. The book was first published on 1st January 2013. It has a total of 384 pages and now available online. The main character in the novel is known as Alice Hyland, who is an expert on a fairy tale. When she is called to investigate the bizarre murders, her insight and premonition cause a lot of suspicions. For her to solve the situation as needed, she has to prove her innocence.
Alice Hyland is called to investigate the murder of a girl whose body was found in the woods and dressed up as a snow white. After her death, the girl’s mother receives a parcel containing blood and the toe of the dead daughter. After this death, another girl is also found dead dressed as Red Riding Hood and some claw marks gouged into her flesh. When this happens, the Cate’s boss, whose is the detective Superintendent Heath is convicted of the connection to the folklore.
As Alice gets deeper into the case, her beings begin to sense a supernatural pull that connects her to the two murder cases. Based on the evidence, a number of things keep making her the main suspect to the murder. When a third girl is found dead, Alice gets into more trouble as she now becomes a suspect instead of an asset.
