Besides this, the villagers she knew now are a bit odd and she is totally confused.

While back at home, an unexpectedly heavy snowstorm maroons the entire village. This makes even things worse for Cass and her son Ben. Despite Ben changing to be surly and aggressive to the hard life back in the village, to Cass things are on the contrary. This is because her only confidant is the charming and smooth Theodore Remick, which is the stand-in headmaster. Due to the growing closeness between Cass and the headmaster, the villagers aren’t happy about the situation. As time goes on, the relationship between the two becomes something obvious and everyone in the village is surprised. The surprise isn’t about Cass, but the headmaster who has now changed from the one they once knew.

As Cass gets close to the headmaster, she has no idea that her family has always been a target by the Theodore Remick. Later, she gets to find out that it is not the first time their family has been targeted by Theodore Remick. This means that for Cass to protect her son, Ben, then she has to fight back.
