Blog
Welcome to my blog.
Here is where I’ll write well – whatever I want to write about books I guess. I’ll talk each month about what I read the previous month, run contests here and so much more.
This’ll basically be a place for me to do my musings and write my various opinions.
Below, in date order is everything I have written for the blog category:

I have read most of Ron Ripley of Scare Street and they are my favourite series along with Bernard Cornwell, Simon Scarrow and Christopher Artinian.
Simone Buchholz Should be added.
I will add them to our list of authors to add. Cheers
Very informative, well researched web site. I will be coming back, and hopefully next time there will be some coffee and pancakes ready to enjoy at leisure with the next reading.
Please would you allow some space (and time) somewhere to compare genres and writers.
I am a Wilbur Smith, Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Clive Cussler, Nelson de Mille, Jeffrey Archer, Lee Child, James Patterson, Ken Follet, David Baldacci and Robert Ludlum reader, and I am through most to all of their books. I am on the prowl for the next author who writes spy, war and historical thrillers, or investigative characters.
Who will be my next?
Oh, and Hi from South Africa! Yes, I read Deon Meyer as well, whom you have also featured on your website.
Thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it.
Spy thrillers are my favourite. A couple of recommendations would be:
Victor the Assassin: https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/tom-wood/
The Gray Man: https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/mark-greaney/
John Wells: https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/alex-berenson/
And for Reacher fans, https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/peter-ash/
I highly recommend John Standford’s Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers series. All the writers on your list are on my list, too, so I think you’ll enjoy these Minnesota mysteries.
Hey, what’s up? I’m coming back into reading after a long time and I’m starting by an author that I read a book in the past that I remember I liked, I’m currently reading The Stranger, by Harlan Coben, before I’ve read from him Hold Tight, which I liked very much. I’ve read your post about your favorite Harlan Coben books and I’m counting on reading more from him, I just like very much this author. I wanted a recommendation from you about another author that you think is just as good. Thanks in advance, peace!
Hi Edson,
I always felt that Linwood Barclay was the closest to Harlan.
https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/linwood-barclay/
A lot of his books take place within the same universe.
So I would read No Time for Goodbye First.
Then his standalone novels up until A Tap on the Window incl Never Saw It Coming.
After that, No Safe House, then the Promise Falls series, then can go back to standalones.
Hi Graeme,
Thank you so much, definitely looking forward to discover this author. Do you have just this blog or also an Instagram account/YouTube channel? I really like your content!
Just this blog for now when it comes to writing about what I’ve read 🙂
Just finished “The sweet remnants of summer”, it was not a good read.
Just finished Courting cate. Really enjoyed it. As a life long kentuckian I noticed in chapter 2 about Abraham Lincoln birthplace. In was in Hodgenville ky. Moved to Indiana when he was 9 and as an adult to Illinois
Love your work. I have had many sleepless nights as I HAVE to finish your books. I’ve read them all and now, whilst waiting for your next one, I’m re-reading. Please hurry up.
Devoted fan. PS I’m so glad you described what a a square sausage was, I don’t know any Scottish people, so I had no one to ask. Cheers for that
I do so hope there will be more DCI Logan books coming along. I have just finished the last in the series so far and I feel bereft at losing the wonderful characters. Thank you.
I’m an avid fan of Catherine Coulter. I wonder if you can tell me why she hasn’t published for a couple years now?
Hi Sue – are you thinking of a different author? Catherine has been publishing at least one new book every year. Her most recent one was Vortex in August, and she has a new book coming out this year in August too.
Here is her page with a list of all her books:

Hi Graeme, right after I sent the message to you I realized I was mixed up. I have Vortex but it just seems like it had been a long time ago for her last book. Thank you for your reply to me.
Mr Childs, I have read all of the Reacher books, and I have enjoyed everyone! But I would never and I mean Never watch a movie with a shrimp as “Jack Reacher”! I just found the series on Amazon Prime, Reacher, believe me when I tell you, my faith is restored! Alan Ritchson is Jack Reacher!!! What fantastic job of playing and bringing to Life the True Jack Reacher! He lives! I do believe he lives! All I can say is THANK YOU! Chad
I absolutely agree with you. Alan IS Reacher in spades. I hope the series continues.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Hollywood would just do the movie and characters like it is in the book?! I mean we read those books because we like the way they are written….all of it! Definitely the Prime Reacher is exceptionally better than the movie with Cruise but even than Reacher dresses too nice! Just stick with the biikline and don’t try to pretty them up!
Can you please add Robert Jordan to the list thanks
Hi Betty – Robert is listed here: https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/robert-jordan/
The two books written by both Lee Child and Lee’s brother Andrew are not as good as the books written only by Lee. I read both written by them together and was disappointed. Lee’s books are fabulous but written with Andrew there are so many paragraphs in those two books that can be eliminated due to no interest to the reader. I miss the excitement Lee always brings to the reader and want to keep reading and not want to put it down. I would love to write to Lee and do not want to hurt Andrew’s feelings but wish Lee would write novels alone. I miss his novels more than I can say. I am 84 years old and know a good authors when I read their books. I am young at heart and still appreciate excellent writing and reading. I have every book Lee Child wrote and have numbered them. 25 plus the 2 Lee and Andrew wrote together. I read Lee’s over again when nothing else as good is not available. I am not a prude but some authors like to describe their sex scenes in detail when it is not necessary. They should take a lesson from Lee. He writes what is most important to the story. I Love Jack Reacher. Praying Lee will eventually write alone again.
Yes I agree, with the above. A big Disappointment.
Just watched the New Jack Reacher Series I,
Yippee this guy looks like I imagined . Not like
Tom Cruise.
Just finished your 3
AM series, Is there a book 6 in the works, have a
Need to know if Henry’s father’s Current Situation is dire, to also include the future of zHenry, Ingrid, Lassie & Archie’s quest to find his mother, comes to a successful conclusion. How long will you keep me in suspense.
Any chance you can recommend a “simple,” but good, e-book library management program? One where I can add my own notes and sort on them…etc.
Thank you
Have you tried Calibre? I am not sure if that can do everything you want but is first one that comes to mind.
