A.L. Kessler is an urban fantasy and paranormal romance fiction author from Colorado Springs where she was born and bred.

Ever since she was in her teens, she loved spinning tales and weaving stories. Kessler published “In the Light of the Moon,” her debut work of fiction and the first of the “Dark War Chronicles” in 2013.
She has come a long way since then and is now one of the most prolific authors in the genre with more than fifty works of fiction to his name.

In addition to her novels, she has also published several short stories and several contributions to series by other authors. She also has several short stories published with smaller presses such as Runewrite and XoXo Publishing.
She has also self-published several of her works.

When Kessler is not at the beck and call of Sophie and Jynx her two black cats, she can be found playing video games with her husband, playing with her daughter, taking part in NaNoWriMo, reading or blogging on Blog Writing Rambles.

Like many novelists, A.L. Kessler got into storytelling when she was very young as she grew up reading urban fantasy and paranormal romance.

Having grown up reading these genres, at some point, she grew tired of almost every urban fantasy fiction she loved turning into sex.

It is for this reason that she decided that she was going to write the type of urban fantasies she liked – fantasies without sex. She would then move on to paranormal romance and particularly loved reading the works of Laural K Hamilton.
Ultimately, she thought that she would love to write in the paranormal romance fiction genre too. As for her inspiration, A.L. Kessler reads all manner of genres, even though she tries as much as possible not to read in the genres in which she writes.
Some of the genres in which she reads include nonfiction and cozy mystery fiction. While she does not get much inspiration from cozies, she finds them an interesting escape.
Much of her inspiration comes from the internet and music, which have provided her with most of her ideas.

As for how she writes, A.L. Kessler loves to write by the seat of her pants which means plotting is not something that is in her vocabulary.

All she usually does is make copious notes after which she just sits down to write in between housework, children, and homework.

Once she is done writing, she sends the manuscripts to her beta readers and gets more insights, which she will then proceed to incorporate in later edits before sending the manuscript to her editor.

A.L. Kessler’s “In the Light of the Moon” is a riveting work that introduces the lead Kassity. She is a panther shifter who has been robbed of all control and the only thing she can now become is to be an assassin working for Lucius.
Doing what the vampire wants becomes a way of life until trouble comes to her in the form of Jax who is new in town.

Ultimately, she comes to realize that Jax is her destined mate but still needs to deal with secrets, betrayal, and Lucius if she is to be with him.

As war rages between the supernaturals, Jaxon needs to decide who he is fighting against and who he is for.
What initially seemed like a simple job has now become an intricate game of hears once he met Kassity. Things are even more difficult when he comes to realize that things are not always what they seem when operating in Lucius’s territory.
It is a work that captures you right from the get-go when Kassity has to run from Lucius and her family hires Jaxon to rescue and bring her home.

While you may initially believe you have figured out everything, the author just keeps on unraveling more mysteries as he keeps you on the edge of your seat with anticipation about what will happen next.

“Dance in the Moonlight” by A.L. Kessler is an interesting work of fiction that tells the story of a character named Renee.

Renee had been living a pretty normal life until a legendary stone was sent to her and the shadows reappeared. She finds herself dragged into the paranormal world where the most unexpected thing happens when a brooding werewolf sweeps her off her feet.
Coran captures her attention and her heart but he is not interested in a mate. He is still grieving over his first mate but when Renee comes under attack he is determined to protect her.

Things heat up when he discovers that he has a second chance at love granted to him by fate. Meanwhile, The body count has been rising rapidly due to the war and Coran believes this is the worst time to find a mate.
On the other hand, Lucius is worried about something which only means his followers are going to have it rough while the Circle has increasingly become desperate.

It is another thrilling work that is best described as a dance between fate and danger that draws you right in with excitement and danger right from the first chapter to the last.

A.L. Kessler’s novel “On Torn Wings” is another great work in the “Dark War Chronicles” series of novels.

It opens with the news that Teagan has gone missing which is very bad news for anyone living in Lucius’ territory. Orion is particularly distraught as he is the fae who was charged with protecting Teagan.
The Hunter Danielle is right inside it all while Lucius is slowly going crazy. Danielle starts investigating and her work leads her toward Orion only to realize that she may have bitten more than she can chew.
Orion and Danielle have a very strong attraction to each other and ultimately this results in some great action. However, their relationship puts Danielle in Lucius’ spotlight.

It is a riveting work of fiction with some interesting urban fantasy fiction and a great romance plot.
