A Man Who Knows What He wants is a series of romantic novellas written by Flora Ferrari. The books detail the exploits of the older men who will stop at nothing to claim the younger women in their lives.

+The Story

The ‘A Man Who Knows What He Wants’ Series is a collection of very short stories. The books tend to vary in length from seventy to a hundred fifty pages, but rarely over 200 pages. Because of their length, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that the stories Flora Ferrari tells within are limited in scope.

They focus primarily on the trials of the hero and the heroine. Little to no focus is given to the supporting cast. And Ferrari’s pacing is usually quite rapid. She gets right to the point, so much so that some people might accuse some of the titles of feeling rushed.

The romance takes center stage. But rather than focusing on sex—and throwing as much sex at readers as she possibly can, considering the limited page count—Ferrari actually emphasizes the emotional aspects of her stories.

While each book introduces a new set of couples, the dynamic between them doesn’t change that drastically. Mia and Noah take the lead in ‘Baby Lust’, the first novel. Noah is an army man, a special operative that has led his SEAL Team on numerous missions around the world.

Noah is ready to give it all up for Mia, the love of his life. Mia and Noah have loved each other for several years. But the fact that Noah was Mia’s brother’s best friend kept them from acting on their feelings.

It didn’t help that Noah was so much older than Mia. When it becomes clear to Noah that Mia is the only woman he has ever wanted, he proceeds to show that he is willing to do anything she desires and more to start the family they both want.

You don’t see Noah and Mia in ‘Veteran’, the second novel in the ‘A Man Who Knows What He Wants’ series. Rather, the focus shifts to Jack and Ava, another army man/innocent girl pairing.

Flora Ferrari doesn’t always make her heroes army men. But they are always powerful men, involved in fields that have honed their physical strength and combat prowess. They are typically older than the heroine, not by so many years that it would become inappropriate, but enough for their friends and family to raise a few eyebrows.

And they are worldly in every way imaginable. They have traveled. They have seen so much, met so many people, slept with an innumerable number of women. They are experienced in the ways of sexual pleasure and they have it in mind to educate the women they love about the art of sex.

Flora Ferrari’s title for this series is an apt description of her heroes. There is no coyness when it comes to Jack, Noah and their ilk. They might have struggled with commitment in the past, but by the time the author’s heroes turn their sights on the heroine, they have made up their mind to claim her for their own.

And they do not hesitate to not only tell her what they want from her but to also prove that they are willing to go above and beyond to acquire her love.

The heroines are the standard innocent girl. Most of them are young and sexually inexperienced. They are also sweet and trusting. However, their purity only makes them desire the ruggedness of the hero all the more.

They despise the men in their station and age range. They find the worldly nature of the hero alluring. They want a man that will dominate them in every way that matters and they will bend over backward to accommodate their love interest.

That is often the primary criticism leveled at these books. The heroines are too tame. This is despite the fact that Flora Ferrari makes the heroes such rogues. They claim to love the heroine and they go on and on about how she is the only one for them.

However, the majority proceeds to sleep with multiple women even as they attempt to woo the heroine. Their defense is that their fields of employment are so stressful that the touch of a woman—any woman— is essential for them to blow off steam every once in a while.

Ferrari defends them by having them argue that none of those affairs meant anything and actually left them feeling empty. If anything, the fact that they could sleep with so many women and suffer from dissatisfaction was proof that they truly loved the heroine.

The argument made against Ferrari revolves around the fact that her heroines are too eager to take the hero back. This is regardless of how recklessly the hero treats them. They will melt into his arms and acquiesce to any of his sexual proclivities the moment he comes knocking on their door.

The ‘A Man Who Knows What He Wants’ books have their fans, readers who appreciate the fact that Flora spends the majority of her time building the chemistry between her characters rather than immediately throwing them into bed and keeping them there.

+Veteran

Jack is two decades older than Ava. But that doesn’t matter. She loves him. It isn’t just his body that she finds alluring or even his maturity and experience but also the quiet confidence he exudes.

Jack treats Ava like a princess and that is all that matters. It helps that Jack feels as strongly about Ava as she does about him.

To Jack, Ava is as pure and innocent as they come and he will do everything he can to guide her away from his mistakes. Unfortunately for the pair, their friends and family, and a figure from Ava’s past are determined to see the couple separate.

+Built

Dominic is everything Cora wants. He is tall, well-built, rich, and shrewd. But despite being one of the most respected businessmen in the country, Cora knows that Dominic has hidden desires.

She knows that he wants her and that he will move mountains to claim her. The shy, innocent girl doesn’t know why Dominic chose her or how he grew to obsess over her. But she knows that there is no place she would rather be than in his arms.
