Abby Jimenez
Abby Jiminez is a motivational speaker, Food Network champion, and contemporary romance novelist. She loves not leaving the house, doglets, coffee, and a good romance.
She founded Nadia Cakes right out of her home kitchen in the year 2007. The bakery has gone on to win many Food Network competitions and has gained an international cult following. Her wry literary wit was also spotlighted as the admin behind the hilarious viral comments on the famous Nadia Cakes Vageode cake.
Abby has been reading romance for longer than she is able to remember. She began reading historical romances during high school. She jumps around through different genres, but her favorite part of any book is the love story. A romance, she feels, that is well done is very nuanced and it takes a lot of skill to totally pull it off.
Abby has always liked writing and baking, and she is the type of person that gets very into something if she likes it. As her kids started getting older and it started getting easier to focus on something like writing a novel, she kind of began sliding it as her new hobby.
She writes most of her books on her cell phone using just her thumbs and Google Docs. The only time she opens up her laptop is to do the big edits. She has a rule that she doesn’t write until after noon since her brain has not woken up enough yet.
Being a romance writer, the reader has to fall in love with either the heroine or hero, she believes. It goes beyond just sympathizing or rooting for them, rather it is evoking some actual feelings, making you believe that they feel the same way you do, and making you connect to the characters. It is not an easy thing to actually do, and Abby believes the romance genre should get more credit for it.
While writing, she finds it easy to incorporate humor, since she has a tendancy to view the world through such a sarcastic lens.
She is a sucker for chewy SweeTarts. With a roll of these and the right puppy, she could be lured down a storm drawn by a clown.
“The Friend Zone” features a relationship between two best friends was modeled by Abby off of the one she has with Lindsay. It made sense to her then that she include the struggle that has dominated a lot of her life. Kristen’s experience in the novel is told from beginning to end just about exactly like the one Lindsay told to Abby.
She wrote her second published novel, “The Happy Ever After Playlist”, first. In the novel, she makes a dick joke. When showing the novel to her critique buddies, they told her not to send it. However, she figured if her agent was unable to take her at said dick joke, she would be unable to take her at her full novel.
Abby gets inspiration from her husband, since he has got a crazy wife and he only goes with it.
Her debut novel, called “The Friend Zone”, was released in the year 2019. She writes romance novels.
“The Friend Zone” is the first stand alone novel and was released in the year 2019. He is the best man, and that is exactly the problem.
Kristen Petersen is totally fine. She has got friends that she would fight to the death for and the very best dog in the whole world: Stuntman Mike. Matter of fact, everything is calm in Kristen’s world, until she begins planning her best friend’s wedding and meets Josh Copeland, the best man.
Josh is sexy, stands up to her sarcasm, funny, and is one snack ahead of her hangry. Stuntman Mike even adores him. He would like to have a big family, and Kristen knows that kids are probably not a part of her future.
She is certain that he would be better off with somebody else, somebody that can give him all the things he wants, so Kristen continues to keep him in the Friend Zone and at arm’s length. While their attraction grows, it is increasingly difficult to resist falling for the guy that seems to be everything that she isn’t allowed to have.
While this novel does have talk of futures and soulmates, romance, and humor, there is an added layer of emotional complexity. It also features complex characters who all have complex relationships with one another. Fans found this to be a sassy, sexy, sweet, and sexy romantic comedy that goes a lot deeper than most, taking on the subject of infertility.
“The Happy Ever After Playlist” is the second stand alone novel and was released in the year 2020. Sloan Monroe still cannot really get her life back on track, two years after she lost her fiance. However, a trouble-making pup with a ‘take me home’ type look in his eyes is about to change everything. Sloane, now with her pet by her side, finally begins to feel more like herself. After weeks of some unanswered texts, Tucker’s owner reaches out to her. He is on tour in Australia and is a musician. Bottom line is, that he wants to have Tucker back.
Sloan, however, is not about to just hand over her dog without putting up a fight. What if this Jason really does love Tucker? While their flirty texts turn into some long calls, Sloan is unable to deny a connection. Jason is nice, hot, and funny. There is no telling what is able to happen as they meet up in person. Question is: while his music career rises, how long is Jason going to actually be sticking around for? Is it possible for Sloan to make it through another heartbreak?
Abby infuses an immense amount of heart into each and every one of her novels. She writes plot lines with familiar elements and throws in some emotional complexity, and populates the books with flawed and unique characters you want to root for. The book is sure to make you cry, laugh, and smile.
