Alexa Aston loved storytelling from a very young age. She used to play with stuffed dolls and animals that she used to act out the stories that she made up. It was while she was in college that she penned her first novel.

During this time, she planned to write by night and teach by day when she finally became a teacher. However, she was overwhelmed with parents to call, lessons to plan and papers to grade that she hardly had any time for writing.

Combined with the fact that she now had a family and husband, the dream of becoming an author seemed to be receding into the background with each passing day. Aston would go on to teach history for three decades before retiring and deciding to become an author.

She had begun writing a few years before her retirement as she was overwhelmed by a desire to put down her stories. With her love for romance reads and teaching history her historical romance novels would soon become a huge hit.

She now makes a living writing medieval and regency romances for Dragonblade Publishing.

Aston got serious about her writing career when in 2013 she signed for a small publishing press. She had always loved telling stories and now that she had all the time, she could get down to writing.

Romances were something that she always enjoyed reading and so she started writing manuscripts beginning with “Word of Honor,” the debut of the “Knights of Honor” series of novels.

After achieving much success with her first series, she went on to write contemporary romances, western historicals, Regencies and even Hollywood Name Game series. She currently publishes her work with Oliver-Hebr Books and Dragonblade Publishing.

Alexa Aston has asserted that she finds writing satisfying as she gets to entertain her audience just like many authors entertained her over the years. She loves learning new things, being swept away in her stories as she goes to far off places when she reads. This is what she intends to do in her many novels.

After spending more than three decades teaching teenagers, Alexa Aston finally gets to enjoy a quieter life as an author writing from home.

Even though she writes every day, she likes to juggle different balls . She can often be found researching different character sketches and eras or editing a chapter or two that she wrote the previous day.

While she sometimes works on polishing her manuscript, she prefers to stay immersed in her stories. Aston loves to write in total quiet as music tends to pull her out of her scenes since she starts singing along and humming whenever she plays any music.

Still, she loves to create when she is surrounded by her family at home. Her favorite writing spot is her reclining rocker in her office with her laptop on her lap, her feet up and her water or hot cup of tea nearby.
