When not busy with writing, Alexi can be found boating with her family on the lake. She is married and lives in the state of Wisconsin.
“Bourbon Chase” is the first novel in the “San Francisco Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. Jen Dawson works as an emergency room physician that trains for a triathlon in San Francisco, while Tommy Vietti, her boyfriend, is an experienced detective that is loyal to the police force, Jen, and his Italian family.
Amanda Hawthorne is one charismatic District Attorney that prosecutes criminals as she fends off attacks from different mobsters. As the most eligible lesbian in all of San Francisco, she has her selection of female companions, so why would she be all attracted to Jen, a supposedly straight woman?
When a colleague of Jen’s becomes a murder suspect, Amanda and Tommy invade Jen’s professional life. Jen sticks up for her physician colleague however finds that she’s got more in common with Amanda than only butting heads. Is Jen going to stay with Tommy or actually pick Amanda?
Alexi writes quite a murder mystery with a juicy romance and a tight plot. This fantastic mystery continues to build the characters as it keeps you hooked, trying to find clues to learn who the killer is.
“Amanda’s Dragonfly” is the second novel in the “San Francisco Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. Amanda is the powerful District Attorney in San Francisco, defined by her intellect, an unwavering sense of justice, and beauty. Even though she is renowned for prosecuting the murder cases, a war breaks out between the Italian mafia and the DA’s Office, with this one Russian billionaire lurking in the background. She’ll have to decide just how far she’s willing to go to keep Dr. Jen Dawson safe.
Jen faces some monumental personal changes and some dangerous threats from mobsters. Under life-or-death conditions, she sees a new side of Amanda which challenges her former perceptions and leaving her just a bit unsettled. Jen struggles for survival and independence, while Amanda’s war hijacks her own life. At the same time, Jen believed she had put Detective Tommy Vietti, her former lover, behind her, however finds that she and Amanda must track him down for some unfinished business which binds them all.
Tommy intentionally dropped off the matrix after she left him for Amanda, his longtime colleague. Feeling incredibly betrayed by the both of them, the very last thing that he wants is for either of them to discover he’s in paradise since they each need him, for different reasons. Tommy, as a seasoned detective, isn’t a stranger to danger and drama, however Amanda’s mobster case generates a lot more than even he is able to imagine.
This is another entertaining read that ratchets up the intensity in the passion, action, danger, and character departments. There is outstanding writing that readers could not set down for very long, and it is obvious Alexi knows the island of Kauai very well.
“Stabscotch” is the third novel in the “San Francisco Mystery” series and was released in the year 2018. Detective Tommy Vietti expects the Feds will take a murder case away from him because it involves a Federal Reserve Bank employee. Instead, they just send Roxy MacNeil, who is a Scottish banking expert, to investigate with him.
Using vulgar language, smoking cigarettes, and drinking Scotch, she gives off the impression that she is a number crunching savant. That ends when Tommy and she go to a strip club, and Tommy starts wondering just who she really is.
District Attorney Amanda Hawthorne wonders whether or not she should have a baby, like Dr. Jen (her fiancee), however she’s in the middle of a re-election cycle. While they figure out who may be the best sperm donor, Amanda gets immersed in Roxy and Tommy’s murder case.
Juggling raising baby Kristin and her busy clinical practice, Jen is by Amanda’s while at public events. She is able to handle Amanda just being a minor celebrity, having a bunch of former girlfriends, and even getting hit on by the strangers at the Dyke March. Although Roxy MacNeil is Jen’s absolute worst nightmare. Mysterious, beautiful, sexy, and smart. Oh and powerful too. As far as Jen knows, Roxy is even more powerful than Amanda is, and Amanda’s drawn to power like a dog is drawn to raw meat.
“Tinted Chapstick” is the fourth novel in the “San Francisco Mystery” series and was released in the year 2018. Dr. Jen Dawson, who now lives with Tommy, has grown frustrated with her love life. She is interested in somebody at the CrossFit box, however wonders why she keeps on thinking about Amanda, her former lover.
While Jen works through her own conflicted feelings, she has to also manage the expectations of Dr. Melissa Cohen, her irritated boss. As well as the daily drama served to her by the wild animals, angry patients, and confidential information made public at the Cohen Clinic.
Making things worse, Jen’s asked by Amanda’s campaign manager to defend Amanda after her hellish ending to an affair, with Roxy. Jen will be damned before she’s going to turn into the abused political wife, standing by “her woman” after Amanda cheated on her. But, with just a brief TV interview, Jen could really clear up a mischaracterization of Amanda. Making things even worse, Tommy expresses his real feelings to Jen late this one night, and upsetting the emotional equilibrium to their co-parenting relationship.

I have enjoyed thevSan Francisco mysteries vert much. Especially since I lived in San Francisco for several years. I sure hope you continue with stories about Jen Tommy, and Amanda. I love all three if them, they are a trio to love and also get upset when they don’t behave, but that makes throes feel like friends.
I think I will try the Monica Spade series.
Thank you for great reads
