Ali Brandon made her writing debut with the release of five critically acclaimed historical romances dubbed: ALEXA SMART and ANNA GERARD alongside a series of numerous interesting works of fiction. After a short while, she made a bold move which was switching to the mystery genre releasing a limited series featuring renowned Leonardo Da Vinci who she brought out as a 15th century sleuth. What followed was the publication of A BOLT FROM THE BLUE which served as the third in the Leonardo series released sometime in January 2010.

It is equally worth noting that Ali Brandon is a Texas native with a journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma though she presently resides in South Florida. Over the years, through her impressive writing work, she has managed to win several high profiled awards. For instance, she is the national bets selling author of the title DOUBLE BOOKED FOR DEATH. This is the first release off her upcoming contemporary cozy series dubbed: “THE BLACK CAT BOOKSHOP MYSTERIES”.

This series is different from her usual work in the sense that it is characteristic of a mix of bad tempered story line with a notable black cat character named Hamlet linked to an unwitting bookstore owner who goes by the name Darla in the book. With a coupled of dead bodies here and there, this series is generally a fast paced murder mystery which serves as a guarantee to make you completely purr with not short of absolute satisfaction.

Occasionally writing as DIANE A.S. STUCKART, most of her work has received starred reviews from publishers weekly, the Florida book award silver medal and the library journal amongst others. In addition to all of the above, Ali Brandon also has set up an interactive online platform through which fans and other people interested in her work can easily get access to any of the content she has since been blessed to come up with in the writing front. Her official online platforms are www.dianestuckart.com or www.alibrandon.com both of which are completely free for access anytime of the day or night. In fact, some of her latest releases are even available on online retail platforms such as the Amazon.

Serving as one of the members of the Mystery writers of America as well as a part of the cat writers association, Ali has been writing now for slight more than twenty years. She however, is on record for admitting that she has been taking her writing work seriously for about twenty five years. Through the years, she also admits to have been approached with numerous tempting suggestions and recognitions. For instance, a couple of years ago, she won the Florida book award thanks to her well penned second part of the Leonardo Da Vinci Mystery and the title Portrait of a lady. Her book “A Novel way to Die” also at some point made it amongst New York Times best seller list.

Having accomplished so much since, she says more awards and her work featuring in more lists would do her great. To her, she always feels truly successful when a reader or fan personally reaches out to her and shares with her the message got from the book including how the message has impacted the life. To her it doesn’t get any better than that.

According to Ali Brandon, writing has not really changed her life much, though she admits that the influence writing has had on her life is better than what she initially hoped for. Through her years of writing, she has noted that the general public has a perception that authors such as herself are fairly wealthy which is not the case, in fact in an interview, when this matter was raised, she responded that her and her accountant were always laughing hurtfully.

When starting off, Ali Brandon admits to having shifted most of her focus on having her work published. Interesting thing is, since she has been able to establish a name for herself, he focus is slowly shifting towards making sure that her next book release of title is better than the last. This she says is in a bid to help make sure that the publishers and most importantly her fans and other interested readers keep on buying her books.

Getting her work noticed is not an easy task. From her own point of view, it took her close to fifteen years of hard work, knuckling down and trying endlessly to sell her writing works to get where she presently is at the moment. Ali Brandon says, if she had the chance to do everything all again, she would focus on expanding into other writing horizons (different genres) rather than just settling in her comfort writing zone. Some of her work presently involves creation of new materials, rewriting already written material, submitting completely new work, going through as well as promoting already published work. Though seems like a lot of work, she wakes up very early which give her enough time to attend to each and every responsibility.

Making it to the New York Times best seller extended list is by far her greatest achievement; it is the most exciting thing which has happened to her in the course of her writing career. There have also been some very disappointing experiences through her several years of writing. For instance book signing events have only turned out to be her and the book seller which to her is very De-motivating. Ali’s work is different from other authors work in the sense that it is very easy to relate to, fun etc. her plot and approach to writing though may wonder to the wacky side, they are equally grounded with true emotions to a certain extent.

Her advice to upcoming writer is that they should not overlook traditional printing without necessarily even giving it a try. To her at least one month traditionally printing is enough to gauge the potential and quality of one’s work which in turn makes it very easy to decide on the next step to take. Even though she does not completely discredit e-publishing, she insists on carefully and thoroughly proof reading any completely work in order to avoid uploading any poorly edited work. Finally, she admits that her most effective tool for promoting her work is word of mouth. Upcoming authors should therefore take advantage of and use word of mouth to promote any of their work.
