Henley published “Captured by Time,” her debut fiction work in 2015, and has never looked back since.

Just like most of her contemporaries, Alta Henley has written most of her life. Growing up, her grandmother liked to tell her that she would grow up to become an author and she believed it.

She first considered herself an author when her first book was listed on Amazon. It was quite a moment as she cried like a baby seeing her dream come true.

As for her influences, she has said that some of her biggest influences have to be the likes of Anne Rice, VC Andrews, and Stephen King who were some of her favorite authors while she was growing up.

“Bastards & Whisky” by Alta Henley is the story of Kenneth, a man who owns a Gentleman’s club alongside several other men in New Orleans.

It is a place that provides access to some depraved acts that some men come up with in their dark minds. Going beyond whisp and chains, their motto is “If you can think it, it shall be provided.”

On the other hand, is Anita, a woman from Nevada who leaves the state in search of change and to add some spice to her life. She is guided by a friend who recommends “Spiked Roses” as a club in need of several hires.

However, she tests positive on a drug test and since she does not have anywhere to go, since she sends most of her earnings home to her sister who is responsible for taking care of her sick father, she finds herself at her wit’s end.

But she is thrown a lifeline as Victor Drayton asks her if she would be open to becoming a Dayton Doll. Victor has a reputation for being an artist who pushes the boundaries of hidden disease, sexual deviance, and taboo.

He also happens to be one of the owners of the club and hence he is known to have the resources and power to do what he chooses. This is something he enjoys as he is a twisted, rich, dark, and ruthless man.

Ivy goes to work for Victor and moves to the Dollhouse where she undergoes rigorous training in dancing, posing, and choreography so that she can become a life-size doll.
