Lawrence De Maria is a published author of fiction.
De Maria started out his career in the United States Marines. After his stint there, he decided to go into journalism. He started out at a paper called The Staten Island Advance. In this paper, he covered politics as well as crime in an area where the two of these subjects were not always mutually exclusive.
He would go on to work at The New York Times as well. He was a financial and crime reporter whose work had won awards. He was given the pleasure of having a Pulitzer nomination for his Times work. While he was there, he would frequently cover topics such as the stock market. His work would frequently be on the first page.
He would also write about other topics, which was often largely relevant on the amount of time that the other columnists and reporters would take on their lunch break. He would write about things such as real estate, options, the credit market, and a variety of topics that usually had to do with a financial angle. He thinks that he has a record for writing the most bylines in an edition of the Times, which would be a total of four. Usually there is just one byline, but De Maria liked to have a few bylines if he could.
He has written numerous fictional novels as well as series. Some of his writing can be loosely based off of the experiences that he had in real life. These include interactions with some of the more well known criminals to exist in American history. His work is also influenced by a number of other writers, including Ian Fleming, Colin Dexter, John D. MacDonald, Ed McBain, and Robert B. Parker.
He has also reviewed all types of books for his well read column at the Washington Independent Review of Books. He is the author of series such as the Jake Scarne series, the Alton Rhode Mystery series, and the Cole Sudden C.I.A. series. He is the writer of Sound of Blood, which is in development.

Capriati’s Blood is the first novel to come out in the Alton Rhode Mystery series by Lawrence De Maria. This is a book that many have praised, including the New York Post’s John Crudele, who liked this private eye mystery so much that he called it a ‘stunner’. Florida Weekly also had positive things to say, stating that a book by this author gives you more for your money than almost any other novel would in the marketplace today. The Washington Independent Review called the author ‘a master’ when it comes to thriller dialogue.
When a wounded veteran makes an attempt to save the life of a child becomes caught up in the middle of a mob war, what’s the worst that could happen?
It all starts with a gorgeous woman asking a favor of a private eye. She wants the detective to track down her lover, a bank embezzler that has up and left, all while she was pregnant all those years ago. Her claim for wanting to find him is that his bone marrow could be the key to helping her to save her young daughter’s life.
The only problem is that this was a while ago, and it’s been fourteen years that the trail has gone cold. The private eye also has other things to deal with, too. Somehow he has been caught up and is in the sights of a killer, becoming a target along the way. He’s in huge danger, and a mysterious woman with a pistol on hand has saved his life.
He’s been bought extra time and devotes his attention to tracking down the fugitive ex-lover of the formerly pregnant woman. However, things are starting to get truly strange. This mystery takes off and never stops until it gets to the very end. What will end up happening? Read this first book in the mystery series to find out!
Laura Lee is the second book in the Alton Rhode Mystery series by Lawrence De Maria. If you liked the first novel, be sure to check out this thrilling sequel!
A secret that has long been kept quiet is about to turn deadly once a private eye decides to take a murder case. The situation is as follows. A woman named Elizabeth Olsen is caught by a security guard while she is on her way out of a mansion with a gun in her hand. Inside the building is a dead man. John Denton may have been a banker, but he no longer has a profession to occupy him.
It’s a year where election takes place, so the District Attorney will be the one prosecuting the case. As for the main suspect, Elizabeth is saying that she is not guilty of the crime. However, it appears that she will cop to the fact that John was her lover. When it comes to her story, there are plenty of things to pick apart.
On top of that, she is known as a party girl, with the looks and lack of morality to go with it. Her story is hard to believe. Her lawyer does not even believe her. However, the one person that does believe her is her father, and he has the money to back up his faith. So he hires a private investigator to do the work and hopefully try to clear her name.
But when the case takes a turn for the worse, the private eye will go on his own voyage into a Southern town’s ominous past. There he may find out a secret that will prove a threat to all, whether they are innocent or not. What will happen? Read this book to find out!
