Alyn Troy is a published author of fiction.

Alyn is from the Midwest, spending a lot of time in Indiana. He has also lived in southern California, which happens to be the same place that his Pixie Twist series is set. He has also served as a history docent, working on a pier in southern California.

He is known for writing his series The Mystic Brews Mystery series as well as the Pixie Twist series, part of the paranormal cozy mystery genre. He is now a writer, but has also been a wedding photographer, journalist, and adjunct professor.

Alyn also likes to spend time with his fuzzy friend, who he has named ‘Lord Fuzzbutt’. He is an emotional comfort animal that helps his human out with writing various paranormal cozy mysteries. When he is not busy doing that, he likes to sit outside and see nature flitting around, usually in the form of hummingbirds. He also likes to yowl at Alyn’s door so he can go out onto the patio and hunt down chipmunks, who are ultimately craftier than he is and evade him accordingly.

The author loves to drink dark roast coffee, adding to it a bit of honey and a splash of half-and-half before drinking it. He has gotten pretty good at using his home espresso machine. When switching it up to something a bit harder, he is known for making a very good Mai Tai.

Lattes and Spirits is the first novel in the Mystic Brews Mystery series by Alyn Troy. If you have been searching for something new and fun to read, check out this book!

The main character in this story is a young woman named April Storm. She’s a barista and making foamed drinks like lattes and cappuccinos is what she does best. It’s totally her specialty, but when spirits order her for assistance in helping to solve their deaths, will she find nothing but trouble?

April may have special abilities, but that’s not something that she wants to be the main focus of her life. She enjoys being a barista, too, but she wants to do more than just whip up a macchiato for customers and speak to the ghost of her former boyfriend. When her aunt asks if she would like to help open their own hip little cafe in rural Wales, she thinks it’s a great idea and an opportunity to start again fresh.

The last thing that she wants or expects is to start talking to the dead again. But that’s exactly what happens when a dead cricket player that used to be famous starts talking to her. He’s just like every other ghost, too, because he wants nothing more than for April to out his killer. The only problem is that he cannot recall who it was that killed him.

Willing to help the ghost out, April is now placed in the role of detective. She’s got to do the work to find out who killed her spectral client. Luckily, she’s got some help in the form of her ghostly ex-boyfriend, a magical secret agent, and a cat who is not only having way too much caffeine but can apparently talk too.

She’s hot on the trail, trying to work with the information she has, when the trail shows an escaped demon. April might be in way over her head with this one. On top of that, her own power has recently woken up. If she can’t get a handle on that, the next death that someone solves may be hers. She won’t be around to make sure it goes swimmingly, either.

The detective work is turning into a disaster, and things are ready to go overboard. Can she help her aunt with the cafe and also help serve justice to the deceased cricket player like he deserves? Or will she find that this is too much even for her? The first in the Mystic Brews Mystery series, if you’re a fan of cozy mysteries, the paranormal, or lattes and coffee, you’ll want to check out this fun book too!

Tall, Dark and Troll is the second novel in the Mystic Brews Mystery series by Alyn Troy. If you thought the first book in this series was fun, check out the exciting second installment!

Ebrel Dymestl likes taking her coffee black and she also likes to see killers convicted. The only question is, can she reveal a murderer before they have her personally in their sights?

The witch barista has a lot on her hands trying to get a new coffee roaster broken in. All while attempting to keep the magic aspect of her community on a low-key basis. When a couple of hikers find a dead body, Ebrel takes the opportunity to come in and uses her supernatural powers to handle everything.

That’s all well and good. The only thing is that Ebrel cannot help but notice that trouble is starting up in this small pixie town because the body she is trying to deal with goes up in a poof of steam, and the spirit goes along with it. Not only that, but the top official of the Fae Queen is coming into town for a visit.

Now Ebrel is feeling the pressure to get the case all wrapped up and quickly. The town needs to have the most pristine reputation possible before the top official arrives. But things are always more difficult than they appear, so she decides to enlist some help to try and wrap the case up. Ebrel enrolls the help of her cat familiar, her best friend who also is a spy assassin, and even the ghost of her ex-boyfriend for good measure. Together they should all be able to come up with an answer that works.

Ebrel is looking to serve up justice, but there’s a killer out there on the loose. Can she figure everything out before she is the next item on the menu? Can the town get everything in order before the special visitors arrive? Check out Tall, Dark and Troll, the second book in the Mystery Brews Mystery series by Alyn Troy, to find out!
